Police Blotter: Graffiti, Car and Home Break-Ins

The following items were taken from the Wheaton police blotter.

Someone reported an attempted burglary to an office in the 1700 block of Naperville Road Saturday, Apr. 23. According to the police report, someone used a pry tool to pry open the door to the office suite, but took nothing.

Someone threw a rock through the bedroom window of a home in the 2100 block of Glencoe Street early Friday, Apr. 29. According to the police report, the resident heard the window break in their bedroom and called the police. Police arrived and found that a large concrete stone had been thrown through the window of the resident's Ford Taurus in addition to the bedroom window. The total cost of damage is $1,200, according to the police report.

A woman reported a break-in to her 1999 Chevy Malibu when it was parked in the 1400 block of Stonebridge Circle between Thursday, Apr. 28 and Friday, Apr. 29. Nothing was taken from the car, according to the police report, but the car owner knew someone had been through it because its contents had been moved around.

A woman reported a car break-in to her black 2001 Ford Escape when it was parked in the 1500 block of Purnell between Apr. 28 and Apr. 29. The glove box had been opened and the contents were scattered but nothing was taken, police said.

Police found graffiti on the crossing gate arm at the Metra railroad crossing at the intersection of Hill and College Avenue on Tuesday, May 17.
