Police Blotter: College-Owned Car Taken, Car, Property Damage

The following items were taken from the Wheaton police blotter.

The following reports are related to incidents reported between Apr. 8 and 9:

Theft

Wheaton College public safety reported a stolen college-owned vehicle in what was possibly a student prank, police said. The white 2004 Ford Freestar was parked outside the Beamer Center at 421 Chase St until around 11 p.m. Friday, Apr. 8.

When police arrived at the college they saw the vehicle pull into the parking lot of the Billy Graham Center, 500 College Ave. The two people in the car then jumped out and ran west of the college, police said. The suspects were not found. 

Damage to property

A Wheaton resident in the 1000 block of Briarbrook Drive reported a car burglary after someone broke the front passenger side window of their 2012 Dodge Neon on Saturday, Apr. 9. According to the police report, the resident left his apartment complex at around 7 p.m. Friday, Apr. 8 and returned to find the car had a shattered window, dented side and open glove box. Nothing was taken, police said.

Someone scratched the door of the men’s restroom at Seven Gables Park between 5 p.m. Friday, Apr. 8 and around 8 a.m. Saturday, Apr. 9. The damage appeard to be very old, police said.
