Theft

Someone smashed a basement window to break into a house in the 800 block of Indiana Street and steal a Mac laptop between 10:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 11. Residents told police they’d locked the front door of the house upon leaving for church and when they returned, the door had been unlocked. The total cost of damage is $700, according to the police report.

Someone stole a model train worth $500 from a vendor at the DuPage County Fairgrounds Train Show on Sunday, Sept. 11. The vendor noticed the model was missing at about 12:15 p.m., police said.

Police issued a local ordinance citation for disorderly conduct to a 39-year-old Wheaton woman around 9 p.m. Monday, Sept. 12. She was stopped in the 1000 block of Illinois Street and released on the scene, police said. 

Police issued a local ordinance citation for retail theft to a 24-year-old Warrenville woman Monday, Sept. 12. She was cited at 401 County Farm Road around 7 p.m. and released on the scene.

Police issued a local ordinance citation to a 31-year-old West Chicago man for driving with no valid driver’s license Friday, Sept. 2. He drove a black 2008 Chrysler 300 near the intersection of Butterfield and Orchard roads around 10:30 p.m. when police stopped him. He was released on the scene.

Arrests

Police arrested a Carol Stream woman for attempting to flee an officer, resisting an officer, driving on a suspended license, driving without valid registration or insurance and improper lane usage Sunday, Sept. 11. Marina Kreminsky, 27, drove a silver 2005 Honda Civic near the intersetion of Jefferson and Scott streets around 2:30 a.m. when police stopped her. She was booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released later that morning.

Police arrested a Wheaton man for three counts of illegal use of “intoxicating compounds” at the on Wednesday, Sept. 7. Joseph Vasko, 19, whose last known address was in the 300 block of Lincoln Street in Wheaton, was arrested at Central DuPage Hospital at 11:15 p.m., booked at the Wheaton Police Department and taken to DuPage County Jail that night.

Police arrested a 39-year-old Wheaton man for driving under the influence of alcohol, with no valid driver’s license and disobeying a traffic signal on Friday, Sept. 9. Andrew Hinton, of the 1100 block of Durham Drive, drove a white 2008 Ford F-150 near the intersection of Naperville and Roosevelt roads around 12:30 a.m. when police stopped him. He was booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released later that morning.
