Police Blotter: Arrests and Thefts, July 30-Aug. 2

The following items were taken from the Wheaton police blotter.

Arrests

Police arrested Patrick Downey, 29, of Oak Park on a warrant for failure to appear for driving under the influence and obstructing identification Sunday, July 31. He was booked at the Wheaton Police Department at 4:25 a.m. Sunday and released later that morning.

Police arrested a 41-year-old Wheaton woman for no valid driver’s license, operating an uninsured vehicle and a stop sign violation Saturday, July 30. She was released on the scene.

Police arrested Nora Rodriguez, 40, of Elgin for no valid driver’s license and speeding in a construction zone Saturday, July 30. Rodriguez drove a gray 2000 Buick Century near the intersection of Butterfield and Orchard roads around 1:30 a.m. Saturday. She was booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released later that morning.

Police arrested Diane Johnson, 48, of the 700 block of Liberty Drive in Wheaton for failure to appear for theft around 1 a.m. Saturday, July 30. She was arrested in the 200 block of Union Avenue and taken to DuPage County Jail later that morning.

Theft

Someone stole a Cubs wallet, $20 in cash, and ID and credit cards from an unlocked gray 2004 Mazda 3 while it was parked at 300 County Farm Road between 1 and 5 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 2.

Someone used red paint to deface the front of a business at 75 Danada Square East in Wheaton around midnight Monday, Aug. 8. The same paint was used to deface the front of American Mattress, 801 Butterfield Road, according to the police report. 

Someone broke into a Subaru Forester parked in the 1700 block of Lakecliffe Drive and stole a bag containing books, papers, an ID and $115 in cash between 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 2 and 8 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 3.
