Police Blotter: $340 Taken from Wallet, Stolen Electronics and Contempt Arrest

The following items were taken from the Wheaton police blotter.

A Dunkin’ Donuts customer had $340 in cash stolen after he left his wallet on the counter on Thursday, Apr. 14. According to the police report, the victim left Dunkin’ Donuts, 956 Roosevelt Road at around 5:30 p.m. and realized he had left his wallet inside. He returned to find the wallet, and all of the cash was missing.

Someone who left their backpack in the locker room at Franklin Middle School reported a stolen cell phone and iPod on Thursday, Apr. 14. The victim went to track practice and returned at around 3 p.m. to find the electronics had been taken, police said. 

Police arrested James Sorfleet of the 200 block of Franklin Street in Wheaton for contempt of court on Thursday, Apr. 14. Sorfleet, 30, was arrested on a DuPage County Sheriff’s Office warrant at his home on Franklin Street. He was taken to the DuPage County Sheriff’s Office and the case was taken to bond court.
