Police: $700 in Fossils Stolen, Computer Left in Store Parking Lot

Someone stole $700 in fossils from the Geology Department at Wheaton College, in the 400 block of Howard Street, between March 1, 2011 and December 1, 2011. Police said two fossils were reported stolen.

A resident in the 1100 block of Elm Street in Wheaton reported someone damaged their screen door in an unsuccessful attempt to break in to the home Monday, March 12. Police said the resident left their home around 8:50 a.m. and when she returned at 3 p.m., the screen door was open and damaged. The cost of damage is $200, police said.

Someone stole an MP3 player, worth $250, at Wheaton Warrenville South High School around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 7.

Someone stole a cell phone, worth $300, at Wheaton Warrenville South around 10 a.m. Monday, March 12.

Someone stole $216 in art supply set from a store in the Danada East Shopping Center around 6:30 p.m. Friday, March 9.

Someone stole a cell phone that someone left on a table at McDonald’s in the 2100 block of Roosevelt Road around 10:30 p.m. Friday, March 9. When the phone’s owner returned to McDonald’s to look for the $300 phone around midnight, it was gone.

Someone stole a computer tablet after a shopper left it in a shopping cart in the parking lot of Danada Square East around 3 p.m. Saturday, March 3. The tablet is worth $750, police said.
