Pedestrian Hit in Wheaton Improves, Remains in Critical Condition

Barbara Meagher of Carol Stream remains in critical condition at Loyola University Medical Center with injuries sustained last week after she was hit by a car on Geneva Road.
Meagher, 52, is off a ventilator and is somewhat communicative, police said.
According to a release from the Wheaton Police Department, Barbara Jean Meagher, 52, was crossing Geneva Road from the south entrance of Home Depot around 3:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 4, when she was hit by an eastbound car driving in the curb lane.
