One Hospitalized After Fire at Butterfield's Restaurant

Officials investigate fire at Butterfield's Pancake House & Restaurant.

The Wheaton Fire Department is investigating a fire at Butterfield's Pancake House & Restaurant on Butterfield Road in Wheaton, according to a news release from the fire department.

Fire officials responded to the first about 7:15 p.m. Saturday, April 6 and found the landscaping at the northeast corner of the restaurant on fire. 

The fire was quickly extinguished, but the electric, gas and cable service connections for the restaurant were all located in the area of the fire.

There was no damage to the interior of the restaurant. One person asked to be transported from the fire to the hospital to be checked, according to the release.

There are no estimates of damages. The cause of the fire is undetermined, officials said.

The property was turned back over to the owners.
