UPDATED: Officials Investigate House Fire Near Wheaton North

A fire at a two-story home near Wheaton North High School Thursday is under investigation.

Updated 10:55 a.m.

No one was hospitalized after a heavy fire at a vacant two-story house at 25W330 Armbrust Avenue in Wheaton Thursday morning, officials said.

Crews brought the fire under control within about an hour, according to a news release from the Wheaton Fire Department.

The fire, which started about 7:10 a.m. Thursday, is still under investigation. Officials said the origin and cause of the fire are undetermined. 

The house is just a few blocks away from Wheaton North High School, where officials are also investigating a fire that started in a science store room before students got to class Thursday morning.

According to the release from the fire department, "At this time, the cause of both fires is undetermined, and they are both being investigated by the Wheaton Fire Department, Wheaton Police Department and the DuPage County Fire Investigation Taskforce. Damage estimates are unavailable at this time. The Wheaton Fire Department was assisted on the scenes by the Wheaton Police Department, DuPage County Sherriff and numerous area fire Departments."
