Off-Duty Police Officer Shoots Intruder

Sheriff's office asks those with additional information to call.

An off-duty police officer shot an intruder that entered their home in unincorporated Wheaton around 7 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, the announced Monday.

According to the release, the sheriff's office received a 911 call from the resident and when deputies arrived on scene, the homeowner and officer was fighting with the intruder and shot them.

Both the homeowner and the intruder were transported to . No one has been charged, the DuPage County State's Attorney's Office said Tuesday.
