Judge Denies Reduced Sentence in Drug-Induced Homicide of Wheaton Man

A DuPage County judge on Wednesday denied a defense attorney's request to reduce a Chicago man's 10-year prison sentence for drug-induced homicide to seven years, according to the Daily Herald. 

Judge Blanche Hill Fawell said "she needed to send a message to drug dealers" in the prison sentence for Malcolm Brown, 26, who prosecutors said delivered the heroin that killed Stephen Briston, 38, of Wheaton, in July 2011, according to the article.
