Home on Yorkfield Broken Into Tuesday

So far in January, several burglaries and an attempted burglary have been reported.

A home on the 300 block of Yorkfield, in southeast Elmhurst, was broken into sometime before 6:18 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22, Elmhurst police reported.

The resident returned home after 6 p.m. and noticed his $500 laptop and $200 iPod were missing from the home. Drawers and items were scattered throughout the house.

The window on a rear garage door was smashed in order to gain entry to the house. This burglary comes on the heels of several reported in Elmhurst last week near the downtown area.

Did you call 911 or the police department? Always call 911, not the non-emergency number.

I happened to notice last night around 5:45 pm three cop cars pulled over with lights flashing on Palmer Drive. They were questioning what appeared to be an elderly man walking down the street. There were 4 cops surrounding him and he was getting his wallet out of his pocket. Anyone know what that was all about? He seemed so harmless!

Elmhurst Police, PLEASE! PLEASE! PLEASE! Can we have a full court press on this? Let's put every cop we have out in the neighborhoods. We need to defeat this epidemic NOW!

Sounds good to me, but who is going handle the other police emergency and service calls that occur throughout the day???

And what other "police emergencies" would those be M? Are you possibly referring to all of those revenue generating traffic stops? First things first! We need police patrolling out there stopping these thieves BEFORE they make their way into our homes. Will they allow all of these burglaries to continue, until someone gets injured or killed?
