High School Locker Rooms a Hot Spot for Theft

Three Wheaton South students and one Wheaton North student reported locker room thefts that happened during the week of Friday, Apr. 15.

Three Wheaton South students and one Wheaton North student reported locker room thefts during the week of Apr. 15: 

  • A Wheaton South student reported stolen Nike running shoes and gym clothes on Monday, Apr. 18. According to the police report, the shoes and clothes, worth a total of $130, were taken from his unlocked gym locker between Friday, Apr. 15 and Monday, Apr. 18.
  • A Wheaton South student reported a stolen Apple iTouch on Friday, Apr. 15. According to the police report, the iTouch, worth $200, was taken from the student’s gym locker between 2:30 and 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Apr. 13. The student wasn’t sure if the locker was locked or not, police said.
  • A Wheaton South student reported a stolen Motorola cell phone on Friday, Apr. 15. According to police, the phone, worth $200, was taken from the girls’ locker room when a student left her phone in her unattended backpack at around 7 a.m. Wednesday, Apr. 13.
  • A Wheaton North student reported that his iPod was taken from his gym locker between 2:30 and 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday, Apr. 13. The student left the iPod, worth $300, in his unlocked gym locker, according to a police report.
