Cell Phone Stolen in High School Locker Room

Someone stole a $100 cell phone from an unattended bag in the girls locker room at Wheaton North High School between 2:15 and 4 p.m.

Women Charged With Theft

Police charged Alyssa Sandoval, 20, of Winfield, in a theft that occurred between Jan. 1 and Jan. 23 at Target, 601 County Farm Rd. She was arrested at Target around 6 p.m., booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released later that night.

$40 Lottery Ticket Stolen in Burglary

Someone stole a $40 lottery ticket from an apartment in the Apartments at Wheaton Center. A resident told police he saw a chair had been used to prop open the apartment door and that someone entered the apartment between 12 and 1:30 p.m., moved a bunch of things around and stole the lottery ticket.

Vending Machine Damage

Someone damaged the vending machine in an apartment complex in the 1700 block of East 22nd Street between 6:30 p.m. Jan. 22 and 8:45 a.m. Jan. 23.

Tire Vandalized

A resident reported someone painted on a tire of a car parked in the 100 block of Orchard Road between 5 p.m. Jan. 16 and 9 a.m. Jan. 17.

 TUESDAY, JAN. 22

$300 Stolen From Apartment

A resident reported someone stole $300 from her apartment in the 1300 block of South Lorraine Road between noon Jan. 11 and noon Jan. 12.

Gun, Computer Equipment Stolen in Break-in

Someone shattered a glass door to break into a home in the 1000 block of Windsor Drive between 6:30 and 10:30 p.m. and steal a $300 handgun and $500 in computer equipment.

MONDAY, JAN. 21

$400 in Video Game Controllers Stolen

Four people stole $400 in game controllers and games from Target, 601 County Farm Rd., around 1 p.m. 

Felony Retail Theft

Police charged John Goggin, 32, of Aurora, with a Glendale Heights police warrant for felony retail theft. He was arrested at 130 N. President St. at 1:30 p.m. and taken to the Glendale Heights Police Department that afternoon. 

SUNDAY, JAN. 20

2 Men Charged: DUI, Drugs

Police charged Cory Woodward, 24, of Gilberts, with driving under the influence of alcohol and possession of drug paraphernalia and issued local ordinance citations to Chase Glander, 26, of Palatine for marijuana possession and possession of drug paraphernalia. Woodward drove a black 2006 Cadillac DST near the intersection of Bloomingale and Geneva roads around 6 p.m. when police stopped him. They were booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released later that night.

FRIDAY, JAN. 18 

Marijuana, Drug Paraphernalia

Police issued local ordinance citations of marijuana possession and possession of drug paraphernalia to Lauren Morgan, 23, of La Grange. She was arrested near the intersection of Buena Vista Lane and Prospect Street around 8 p.m. and released on the scene.
