Man Pleads Guilty in Unincorporated Wheaton Restaurant Robbery
Carol Stream man sentenced to jail and probation in connection to February robbery at Brown's Chicken.
A 19-year-old from Carol Stream has pleaded guilty to aggravated robbery for his part in a February hold up at an unincorporated Wheaton restaurant.
Michael Kiernan agreed to the plea last week in a deal with prosecutors that included a 180 day sentence, with 100 days' credit, in DuPage County Jail, 30 months of probation and a requirement he write an apology to the Brown's Chicken restaurant manager. In exchange, prosecutors dropped armed robbery charges against Kiernan, court records show.
DuPage County sheriff's police arrested Kiernan and a second man, Maherz Bouteldja, after they reportedly entered the restaurant around closing time on Feb. 6, pointed a gun at the manager and took $969, records show.
