Wheaton police reports, Dec. 15-21

FRIDAY, DEC. 21

DUI

Police charged Keffear Clayborn, 44, of the 100 block of Chase Street in Wheaton with driving under the influence of alcohol. He drove a gray 1990 Buick near the intersection of Chase Street and Roosevelt Road around 1 a.m. when police stopped him. He was booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released later that morning.

Mailbox Damage

Someone knocked over a $200 mailbox between 6 p.m. Dec. 20 and 4:15 p.m. Dec. 21.

Driving Without a License

Police charged Frederico Tecuanhuehue, 35, of Aurora with driving without a license. He drove a red 2001 Honda near the intersection of Roosevelt Road and Myrtlewood Drive around 11:45 p.m. when police stopped him. He was booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released later that night.

Felony Retail Theft

Police charged John Roberts, 50, of Elkhorn, WI with felony retail theft related to an offense in the 1700 block of Naperville Road on November 15. He was arrested at the police department and taken to DuPage County Jail.

FTA Warrants

Police charged Michael Reilly, 30, of Chicago with two FTA warrants. He was arrested at the department around 2 p.m. and released later that day.

WEDNESDAY, DEC. 19

Driving Without a License

Police charged Deon Simmons, 40, of Chicago with driving without a license. He drove a silver 2000 Toyota Camry in the 1900 block of Wiesbrook Road around 2:30 p.m. when police stopped him. He was released on the scene.

Laptop, Cell Phone Stolen

Someone stole a laptop, cell phone and sunglasses from an apartment in the 2000 block of North Main Street between midnight and 9:50 a.m.

TUESDAY, DEC. 18

Burglary Attempt

A resident in the 1100 block of Dawes Avenue reported someone tried to break into her home through a sliding glass door between 8:15 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Nothing was stolen. Someone removed the screen door to try to break in, police said.

Two Face Drug-Related Charges

Police issued a local ordinance citation of marijuana possession to Spencer Rollins, 20, of the 1300 block of Lorraine Road and a citation of possession of drug paraphernalia to Alexander Hogberg, 22, of the 1800 block of East Liberty Drive in Wheaton. They were both cited near the intersection of Fapp Circle and Roosevelt Road around 3 a.m., booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released later that morning.

MONDAY, DEC. 17

Driving Without a License

  • Police charged Reynalda Rosendo, 40, of Warrenville with driving without a license. She drove a red 2005 Ford F-150 in the 1900 block of Tiger Trail around 7:20 a.m. when police stopped her. She was released on the scene.
  • Police charged Fernando Velazquez-Sandoval, 68, of Glen Ellyn with driving without a license. He drove a gold 2000 Kia Sportage in the 2100 block of Roosevelt Road around 7:40 a.m. when police stopped him. He was booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released later that morning. 

SUNDAY, DEC. 16

2 Charged With Underage Drinking

Police issued local ordinance citations to Gloria Mubirigi, 18, and Kayla Rivera, 19, of the 800 block of West Roosevelt Road in Wheaton related to underage drinking. Mubirigi was cited at their home around 9 p.m. and Rivera was cited near the intersection of Delles Street and Roosevelt Road around 10:20 p.m. They were both released on the scene.

Marijuana

Police issued local ordinance citations of marijuana possession, possession of drug paraphernalia and illegal transportation of liquor to Daniel Mulcahy, 22, of Glendale Heights. He was cited near the intersection of Blanchard Street and Roosevelt Road around 1 a.m. and released on the scene. 

SATURDAY, DEC. 15

Mailbox Damage

Someone damaged several mailboxes in the 1500 block of Orchard Road.
