Women's rings are getting stolen all over Elmhurst.
A woman attending a wedding reception at the Diplomat West Banquet Hall June 27 took her ring off and put it on a table. When she went to put the ring back on her finger, it was nowhere to be found.
"The entire area around the table was searched and she was unable to locate the ring," police said.
Two days later, a woman from Sunnyside Avenue told an officer "her wedding ring went missing over the weekend and she believes it was stolen," police said.
And a woman from Howard Street told an officer "she believes her son-in-law had stolen her wedding rings while at her home picking up his kids on two separate occasions," police said.
The woman reportedly told police her son-in-law is "currently going through a divorce with her daughter and picks up the kids for visitation."
"She further related (her son-in-law) has a pill habit and steals things to pay for the habit," police said.
