Elmhurst Cops Arrest Vomiting Man & Do-Gooder Trying to Help Him: Police

The vomiting man refused to move and the other guy pushed a cop, police said.

The Elmhurst police said an officer tried to help a vomiting man but saw nothing in the way of cooperation and even got pushed by some other guy.

The officer happened upon the vomiting man—Frank Kekstadt, 36, of 516 S. Illinois Ave. in Villa Park—in a South York Street alley about 11:30 p.m. Friday, police said.

"The officer attempted to assist (Kekstadt) who refused to move," police said.

Then, a misguided Good Samaritan, 37-year-old Jonathan Coan of 475 S. Arlington Ave. in Elmhurst, "came to (Kekstadt's) aid after (the officer) told him to back away," police said.

Coan "attempted to push past (the officer) and was subsequently taken into custody," police said. Kekstadt "attempted to break away from (the officer) and was also taken into custody."

Kekstadt was charged with disorderly conduct and resisting police. Coan was charged with obstructing a police officer. Both men were released on bond.
