DuPage DUI Arrests, July 7 Edition

June 30: Anthony J. Matan of the 1200 block of Country Lane, Lemont, was arrested at 12:38 a.m. at Main Street and Franklin. Matan was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, speeding and disobeying a traffic control device. His blue and gray Honda Civic was towed from the scene to an impound lot. He was released on an I-bond and has a Aug. 7 court date in Wheaton.

  • Andrew G. Witik, 52, of the 7600 block of Baimbridge Drive, Downers Grove, was arrested at 11:46 p.m. on the 2000 block of Manning. Witik was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, improper lane usage and driving while license suspended. His gold Toyota Sienna was towed from the scene to an impound lot. He was released on an I-bond and has an Aug. 7 court date in Wheaton.
  • Patrick H. O'Malley, 30, of the 7800 block of Valley View Lane, Woodridge, was arrested at 7:04 p.m. on the 5200 block of Washington. O'Malley was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. His black Jeep Wrangler was towed from the scene to an impound lot. He was released on an I-bond and has a July 24 court date in Wheaton.
  • Brandon J. Badtke, 25, of the 1700 block of North 18th Avenue, Melrose Park, was arrested at 4:05 a.m. on the 7400 block of Dunham Road. Badtke was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol with a BAC over .08, resisting a peace officer and improper lane usage. His blue Toyota Rav4 was towed from the scene to an impound lot. He was released on an I-bond and has a July 31 court date in Wheaton.

June 20: Veronika A. Moya, 40, of the 4900 block of Prospect, Downers Grove, was arrested at 5:52 a.m. on Franklin east of Douglas. Moya was charged with the following:

  • Driving under the influence of alcohol
  • Failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident
  • Failure to give information after striking a vehicle
  • Failure to report an accident
  • Operating an uninsured motor vehicle


Moya's white Nissan Altima was towed from the scene to an impound lot. She was released on an I-bond and has a July 17 court date in Wheaton.

ELMHURST

July 2: Julia Dudeck, 29, of the first block of West 59th Street, Westmont, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. Dudeck reportedly drove her BMW 530 off the roadway and got stuck on the railroad tracks at West Park and South Prospect avenues, police said. Two oncoming trains, one from each direction, were able to stop before striking the BMW.

June 27: Julia Pagan, 27, of the 1000 block of North Central, Chicago, was arrested and charged with DUI and driving without insurance after police pulled over her silver Hyundai Sonata for improper turn at North and Addison at 1:54 a.m. She was released on bond.

June 26: Michael Samuels, 42, of the 1500 block of South Elmwood, Berwyn, was arrested and charged with DUI, driving with a suspended license, driving without insurance and illegal transportation of alcohol after police pulled over his black Chrysler PT Cruiser for speeding, following too close and failure to dim headlights at North and Willow at 9:05 p.m. He was released on bond.

June 25: Dennis D. Brown, 66, of the 400 block of South Holly Avenue, Elmhurst, was arrested and charged with DUI after police responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle on the 300 block of Commonwealth Lane at 2:50 p.m. He was released on bond.

June 23:

  • Heather Yarocki-Murray, 39, of the 200 block of Troy Lane, Lombard, was arrested and charged with DUI after police pulled over her green Chevrolet Equinox for improper lane use and speeding at Route 83 and Lake Street at 4:18 a.m. She was released on bond.
  • Cara E. Watkins, 24, of the 8600 block of Narragansett Avenue, Morton Grove, was arrested and charged with DUI after police pulled over her red Chevrolet Astro for signal violation at York and St. Charles Road at 12:56 a.m. She was released on bond.
  • Francisco R. Garcia-Lopez, 28, of the 1000 block of Ferrari Drive, Bensenville, was arrested and charged with aggravated DUI, driving with a license suspended for DUI and driving without insurance after police pulled over his green Toyota 4-Runner for speeding and improper lane use at County Line and Lake Street at 12:08 a.m. He was taken to DuPage County Jail and his vehicle towed for forfeiture.

June 20: Trevor Gorman, 21, of the 700 block of Stratford, Elmhurst, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after police pulled over his silver Jaguar S-Type for speeding and improper lane use at Madison and Kearsage at 1:34 a.m. He was released on bond.

HINSDALE

JUNE 28: Tomasz M. Kogut, 32, of the 3500 block of North Osceola Avenue, Chicago, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol with a BAC greater than .08, speeding and driving an uninsured vehicle. Police at 11 p.m. pulled Kogut over on the 100 block of East Ogden Avenue for speeding, according to a report. He was observed to be under the influence of alcohol and submitted a breath test, which indicated his blood alcohol content was greater than .08. He was charged and released to appear in court.

LEMONT

June 25: Wojciech Krzeminski, 48, of the 13400 block of Arctic Lane, Lemont, was arrested at 7:45 p.m. following a traffic stop on the 1100 block of State Street. He was charged with:

  • Driving under the influence of alcohol
  • Improper lane usage
  • Driving while license revoked
  • Illegal transportation of alcohol
  • Operating an uninsured motor vehicle

Krzeminski appeared at the Bridgeview Courthouse for a bond hearing.

June 22: Laura E. Shain, 22, of the 3000 block of September Drive, Joliet, was arrested at 3 a.m. following a traffic stop on the 10900 block of Lemont Road. She was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and improper lane usage. Shain was issued an Aug. 1 court date at the DuPage County Courthouse.

WHEATON

June 29: Police charged Brian W. Evans, 32, of the 400 block of Echo Ln, Aurora, with driving under the influence of alcohol. Evans was driving his gold 2003 Chevy Blazer at 12:04 a.m. at Dorchester and Roosevelt Road when police initiated a traffic stop. He was booked at the Wheaton Police Department and later transferred to the DuPage County Jail, where he was eventually released.

June 25: Police charged Stephen E. Petterec, 51, of the 2000 block of Spice Circle, Naperville, with driving under the influence of alcohol. Petterec was driving his silver or aluminum 2013 Hyundai Elantra at 12:29 a.m. at Roosevelt and Naperville roads when police initiated a traffic stop. He was booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released later that morning.

June 24: Police charged Alex Yan, 26, of the 400 block of Gregory Avenue, Glendale Heights, with driving under the influence of alcohol. Yan was driving his blue 2002 Lexus IS300 at 10:45 p.m. on the 1200 block of South Lorraine Road when police initiated a traffic stop. He was booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released early the next morning.

June 23: Police charged Cristina G. Rios, 24, of the 800 block of Hill Avenue, Aurora, with driving under the influence of alcohol. Rios was driving a red 1996 Chevy at 2:55 a.m. at Butterfield and Orchard roads when police initiated a traffic stop. She was booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released later that morning.

June 22:

  • Police charged Katherine B. Jackson, 22, of the 500 block of Hawthorne, Wheaton, with driving under the influence of alcohol. Jackson was driving a gray 1999 Lincoln Continental at 3:02 a.m. at Carlton and Childs when police initiated a traffic stop. She was booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released later that day.
  • Police charged Marygrace Earls, 18, of the 0S500 block of Jefferson Street, Winfield, with the following:
  • Driving under the influence of alcohol
  • Possession of cannabis
  • Illegal transportation of alcoholic liquor
  • Illegal possession of alcohol by a minor

Earls was driving a blue 1997 Chrysler LHS at 12:38 a.m. at Elm and Washington when police initiated a traffic stop. She was booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released later that morning.

June 21: Police charged Mark C. Prestemon, 48, of the 700 block of Bluegrass Drive, Wheaton, with driving under the influence of alcohol. Prestemon was driving a blue 2012 Chevy Impala at 1:36 a.m. at Dorchester and Roosevelt Road when police initiated a traffic stop. He was booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released later that morning.

June 19: Police charged Krystle L. Gregory, 27, of the 1100 block of South Fischer Street, Wheaton, with driving under the influence of alcohol. Gregory was driving a black 2001 Chevrolet Blazer at 1:11 a.m. at Elm and President when police initiated a traffic stop. Gregory was booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released later that morning.

June 18: Police charged Michael R. Pennington, 35, of Four Wheaton Center, Wheaton, with driving under the influence of drugs. Pennington was driving a blue 2012 Chevrolet Cruz at 12:21 a.m. on the 1100 block of East Roosevelt Road when police initiated a traffic stop, according to a report. He was booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released later that morning.
