Wheaton police reports, Nov. 16-20

TUESDAY, NOV. 20

Car Break-in

Someone went into an unlocked Chevy Malibu parked in a driveway in the 200 block of Kellogg Place between 8 and 11 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20. Nothing was stolen, police said.

Retail Theft

Police charged Ermila Perez, 25, of West Chicago with stealing clothing from Kohl’s, 401 County Farm Road around 8 p.m. She was booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released later that night.

No License

Police charged Jesus Ramirez-Vazquez, 30, of Chicago with driving without a license. He drove a white 2000 Ford van near the intersection of President and Garner streets around 4 a.m. when police stopped him. He was booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released later that morning.

Property Damage

Police issued a local ordinance citation of property damage to Gloria Lillie, 61, of the 1500 block of Stonehill Court in Wheaton. She was cited at her home at 8 p.m. and released on the scene.

MONDAY, NOV. 19

Burglary

  • A business owner in the 600 block of West Roosevelt Road reported a burglary between 10:25 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 18 and 9:30 a.m. Monday. Someone forced entry and stole cash from the register, police said.
  • Another burglary was reported in the 600 block of Roosevelt Road between 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17 and 6:50 a.m. Sunday, after someone forced entry and stole cash from the register.

SUNDAY, NOV. 18

Cell Phone, Sweatpants Stolen

A man reported someone stole his cell phone and sweatpants from a pile of clothes in the gym at Wheaton Warrenville South High School between 4:15 and 5:30 p.m. The cost of the items is $425, police said.

Suspended License

  • Police charged Cara Thompson, 19, of the 200 block of Beverly Drive in Wheaton with driving on a suspended license. She drove a tan 1996 Toyota Camry near the intersection of Childs Street and Dorchester Avenue around 11 a.m. when police stopped her. She was booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released later that day.
  • Police charged Mykola Tuchapets, 21, of Addison with driving on a suspended license. He drove a red 2001 Daewoo Lanos in the 600 block of Naperville Road around 10:20 p.m. when police stopped him. He was booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released later that night.

DUI 

Police charged Black Worman, 29, of Carol Stream with driving under the influence of alcohol. He drove a silver 2000 Jeep near the intersection of West and Wesley streets around 1:40 a.m. when police stopped him. He was booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released later that morning.

SATURDAY, NOV. 17

Laptop Stolen

Someone stole a $1,200 laptop from the common area of the Beamer Center at Wheaton College between 11:10 and 11:20 a.m.

Bookstand Damaged

Someone threw pumpkins at a book stand in the yard of a home in the 700 block of Dawes Street between 10 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16 and 7:30 a.m. Saturday, damaging the plexiglass frame.

FRIDAY, NOV. 16

Suspended License

  • Police charged Catherine Dillon, 53, of Villa Park with driving on a suspended license. She drove a white 2001 Ford Focus near the DuPage County complex around 11:40 a.m. when police stopped her. She was booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released later that day.
  • Police charged Jashuan Lashley, 19, of the 800 block of Lorraine Road in Wheaton with driving on a suspended license. He drove a gray 2003 Chrysler Sebring near the intersection of County Farm and Roosevelt roads around 12:20 when police stopped him. He was booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released later that morning.

DUI

  • Police charged Karen Trznadel, 21, of Bridgeview with driving under the influence of alcohol. She drove a blue 2009 Toyota Yaris near the intersection of Hale Street and Roosevelt Road around 4 a.m. when police stopped her. She was booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released later that morning.
  • Police charged Carl Bartholomay, 27, of the 1400 block of Stonebridge Court in Wheaton with driving under the influence of alcohol. He drove a silver 2001 Honda near the intersection of Courtney and Westhaven streets around 1 a.m. when police stopped him. He was booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released later that morning.
