DUI, Resisting Arrest, Break-ins: Police Blotter

Wheaton police reports, Oct. 10-14, include DUI charges and stolen jewelry

SUNDAY, OCT. 14

Driving Without a License

Police said they charged Esteban Manuel, 27, of Lisle with driving without a license. Manuel drove a green 1997 Nissan in the 300 block of Rice Lake Square around 5:20 p.m. when police stopped him, according to reports. He was booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released later that day.

DUI, Resisting Officer

Police said they charged Sebastien DuFort, 39, of Hinsdale with driving under the influence of alcohol, illegally transporting liquor and resisting and obstructing an officer. DuFort drove a black 2008 Nissan near the intersection of Gary Avenue and Geneva Road around midnight when police stopped him, according to reports. He was booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released later that morning.

DUI

Police said they charged Michael Mihelcic, 28, of the 1200 block of Midwest Lane in Wheaton with driving under the influence of alcohol. Mihelcic drove a gray 2012 Toyota Camry near the intersection of Chase Street and Roosevelt Road around 1 a.m. when police stopped him, according to reports. He was booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released later that morning.

SATURDAY, OCT. 13

DUI

Police said they charged Lori Ortolano, 42, of the 400 block of Knollwood Drive in Wheaton with driving under the influence of alcohol. She was arrested at her home at 3:35 p.m. and released on the scene, according to reports.

Driving Without a License

Police said they charged Joseph Arjona, 18, of Chicago with driving without a license. He drove a silver 2007 Toyota Corolla near the intersection of County Farm and Roosevelt roads around 1 a.m. when police stopped him, according to reports. He was booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released later that morning.

Retail Theft

Police said they issued a local ordinance citation of retail theft to Nancy Lopez, 32, of West Chicago. She was cited with stealing clothing from Kohl’s, 401 County Farm Road, around 2 p.m. and released on the scene, according to reports.

WEDNESDAY, OCT. 10

Burglary Attempt

A resident in the 200 block of North President Street reported a burglary attempt between Saturday, Oct. 6 and Wednesday, Oct. 11. He told police someone tried to force open his apartment door, which was partially cracked, according to police.

Jewelry Stolen

Jewelry was stolen from the 100 block of South Beverly Street after someone broke a window to gain access to the home between 10 and 11 a.m.
