DuPage DUI Arrests, Oct. 14

A teen is charged with DUI after running a car into a home and a man is charged with DUI as well as endangering the life of a child. Get the details in this week's roundup of DuPage drunken driving arrests.

BURR RIDGE

Sept. 28: Aivaras Zigmantas, 27, of the 100 block of north Waterford Drive, Schaumburg, was charged with driving under the influence, possession of cannabis, driving an uninsured vehicle, improper lane use, and improper use of registration after a traffic stop in the 7800 block of County Line Road at 12:14 a.m., police said. Zigmantas was released to appear in court.

Sept. 27: Carol Nabazas-Kenny, 63, of the 20 block of Kingery Quarter, Willowbrook, was charged with driving under the influence after a traffic stop in the 15W100 block of south Frontage Road at 8:26 p.m., police said. She was released to appear in court.

DOWNERS GROVE

Oct. 2: Brian P. Deady, 56, of the 6500 block of Hathaway Lane in Downers Grove, was arrested around 10:02 p.m. in the 6500 block of Hathaway Lane, police said. He was charged with aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol. He was issued a Nov. 7 court date.

Sept. 27: Steven R. Bonanno, 48, of the 1900 block of Wisconsin in Downers Grove, was arrested around 2:16 a.m. near Belmont Road and Grant Street, police said. He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, and was cited for failure to signal. He was issued an Oct. 24 court date.

ELMHURST

Oct. 5: Gonzalo Mendoza, 19, 443 N. Lake Shore Drive, Mundelein, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving without insurance after his black GMC Jimmy hit a tree at Richard and East Court at 12:58 a.m. He was taken to Elmhurst Memorial Hospital and released on bond.

Sept. 30: Lucio Cifuentes, 29, of Bensenville, was charged with driving under the influence, no drivers license, no insurance, improper lane usage, disobeying a red light and endangering the life of a child after a traffic stop at North Avenue and Villa around 2:45 a.m. on Sept. 30. Police stopped Cifuentes’ Honda Civic after he ran a red light, police said. He was released after posting $300 bond.

GLEN ELLYN

Oct. 8: A Glen Ellyn home sustained significant structural damage after police said an SUV driven by a 17-year-old Glen Ellyn girl smashed into it. No one in the home was injured as a result of the accident. The driver of the vehicle was uninjured, but two passengers were taken to Good Samaritan Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, a Glen Ellyn Police official said on Oct. 9. Police responded to the accident at 9 p.m. Investigators determined Anne Page, 17, of Glen Ellyn hit the home after driving north on Park Boulevard and attempting to turn left onto Pershing Avenue, according to police. She lost control of the 2004 GMC Envoy, left the roadway and drove into the home.

Page and passengers in the vehicle attempted to flee the scene, but were found a short time later, said Deputy Police Chief Bill Holmer in a news release. Page was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and leaving the scene of an accident involving injury and making an improper turn, Holmer said. She was released on bond.

HINSDALE

Oct. 6: Police said a 17-year-old driver from Riverside was under the influence of alcohol during a stop for driving without headlights in the 800 block of north Lincoln Street at 11:43 p.m. Police said a breath test indicated the driver’s blood-alcohol content was greater than .00, but less than .08. The driver and a 16-year-old passenger were found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia, and the passenger was found to be in possession of cannabis and a controlled substance.

The driver was charged with possession of drug equipment, unlawful consumption of alcohol and driving without headlights. The passenger was charged with possession of less than 30 grams of cannabis, possession of drug equipment and possession of a controlled substance. Both were released to appear in court.

LISLE

Sept. 21: Gerardo Valdes-Soto, 22, 2538 W. 45th St., Chicago, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol at 6:42 p.m. in the 4600 block of Windward Road, police said.

WHEATON

Sept. 30: Police charged Danielle Yost, 26, of Winfield with driving under the influence of alcohol. She drove a silver 2004 Dodge Stratus near the intersection of County Farm and Manchester roads around 1 a.m. when police stopped her. She was booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released later that morning.

Sept. 29: Police charged Courtney Kubovy, 31, of the first block of Kensington Circle in Wheaton with driving under the influence of alcohol. She drove a black 2011 Mitsubishi Outlander near the intersection of Butterfield and West Loop roads around 2:40 a.m. when police stopped her. She was booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released later that morning.
