DuPage DUI Arrests, Nov. 4

Police reported finding one man asleep behind the wheel and another driving on the wrong side of the road. Get the details in this week's roundup of DuPage drunken driving arrests.

BURR RIDGE

Oct. 27: Antonio Garcia, 39, of the 14400 block of Erin Court, Homer Glen, was charged with DUI, driving on the wrong side of the road, illegal transportation of alcohol and driving without insurance after a traffic stop near the intersection of Route 83 and 91st Street at 1:04 a.m., police said. He was released to appear in court.

Oct. 22: Alfredo Martinez, 28, of the 1300 block of Clement in Joliet, was charged with aggravated DUI after his car left the road and went into the Shell gas station parking lot in the 8900 block of Lemont Road. 

Police said Martinez refused a Breathalyzer test and was "highly intoxicated and belligerent" with police and fire officials. He was taken to DuPage County Jail.

DOWNERS GROVE

Oct. 22: Dante L. Sampler, 37, of the 0-50 block of Fernwood Drive in Bolingbrook, was arrested around 1:42 a.m. in the 2300 block of Ogden Avenue, police said. He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and speeding. He was issued a Nov. 28 court date.

Oct. 21: Michelle P. Cesar, 46, of the 6000 block of Leonard Avenue in Downers Grove, was arrested around 12:46 a.m. in the 1000 block of 55th Street, police said. She was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, improper lane usage, failure to signal when required and illegal transportation of alcohol by a driver. She was issued an Oct. 28 court date.

Oct. 17: Erik D. Winningham, 23, of the 9200 block of 75th Street in Justice, was arrested around 12:13 a.m. in the 3400 block of Fairview Avenue, police said. He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. He was issued a Nov. 21 court date.

ELMHURST

Nov. 1:

  • Heidi A. Tate, 31, 1233 Hamilton Ave., Elmhurst, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after police pulled over her silver Ford Focus for improper lane use at St. Charles and Route 83 at 1 a.m. She was released on bond.
  • Jayme Peterson, 26, 6280 Trinity Drive Apt. 1A, Lisle, was arrested and charged with DUI after police pulled over her blue Chevrolet Malibu for weaving on the 200 block of North Walnut at 1:15 a.m. She was taken to the hospital and released on I-bond.
  • Melanie A. Magday, 24, 1017 David Drive, Bensenville, was arrested and charged with DUI after police pulled over her black Kia Soul for speeding and improper lane use at York and North Avenue at 4:03 a.m. She was released on bond.

Oct. 29: Ulysses Benitez, 20, 142 E. Lorraine Apt. D, Addison, was arrested and charged with aggravated DUI, driving with a suspended license and obstructing identification after police pulled over his black Ford Escape for speeding at North and Indiana at 12:14 a.m.

Oct. 28:

  • David Saycocie, 26, 123 Glenbrook Circle, Gilberts, was arrested and charged with DUI and illegal transportation of alcohol after police pulled over his white Honda Fit for improper lane use and speeding at Route 83 and Riverside Drive at 3:13 a.m. He was released on bond.
  • Peter Buckley, 52, 903 Dunton, Arlington Heights, was arrested and charged with DUI and parking where prohibited after police allegedly found him asleep in his tan Cadillac Deville at York and Park streets at 1:27 a.m. He was released on bond.

Oct. 27:

  • Enrico Lopez, 51, 934 S. Spring Road, Elmhurst, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and transportation of open alcohol after police pulled over his black Chrysler Concord for disobeying a traffic control device at St. Charles and York at 1:36 a.m. He was released on bond.
  • Vanessa Hernandez, 26, 4960 N. Marine Drive Apt. 814, Chicago, was arrested and charged with DUI after police pulled over her black Pontiac Sunfire for speeding, improper lane use and disobeying a traffic control device at Cayuga and York at 3:56 a.m. She was released on I-bond.
  • Carmen Mendez-Izquiero, 37, 1851 S. 9th Ave., Maywood, was arrested and charged with DUI after police pulled over a gray Chrysler 200 for speeding at North and York at 4:05 a.m. Mendez-Izquiero was released on I-bond.

Oct. 21: Jose Federico, 22, 328 LaPorte, Bensenville, was arrested and charged with DUI after police pulled over his white Saturn Aura for violating a median and failure to yield at York and Grand at 3:06 a.m. He was released on bond.

Oct. 20: Gail Robert, 43, 239 N. Mill Road, Addison, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and illegal transportation of alcohol after police pulled over her gray Toyota Corolla for disobeying a traffic control device at North and Villa at 12:43 a.m. She was released on I-bond.

GLEN ELLYN

Oct. 26: Joy A. Horak, 43, of the 18 West 300 block of Stone Avenue, Addison, was arrested at Roosevelt Road and I-355 at 11:28 p.m., police said. She was charged with driving under the influence.

Oct. 22: Police said Jose Antemate, 27, of the first block of Parkside Avenue, was arrested at 11:56 p.m. in the 100 block of Parkside Avenue. He was charged with driving under the influence.

HINSDALE

Oct. 28: John Abruzzo, 25, of the 100 block of south Cass Avenue, Westmont, was charged with DUI after he appeared to be under the influence of alcohol during a traffic stop near the intersection of Stonegate Road and Ogden Avenue at 3:37 a.m., and refused a breath test, police said.

Abruzzo was charged with DUI, illegal transportation of alcohol, driving while license revoked and improper lane use.

WHEATON

Oct. 28: Police charged Susan Ramirez, 18, of Chicago with driving under the influence of alcohol. She drove a red 2010 VW Jetta near the intersection of Lorraine and Roosevelt roads around 3 a.m. when police stopped her. She was booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released later that morning.

WOODRIDGE

Oct. 20: Nancy McGregor, 50, of the 7200 block of Grand Avenue in Downers Grove, was charged with driving under the influence and speeding in a construction zone after police stopped her at about 12:45 a.m. near 75th Street and Devereaux.
