DuPage DUI Arrests, May 19 Edition

BURR RIDGE

April 28: Marcus Conner, 39, of the 2000 block of Wheatfield, Romeoville, was charged at 12:11 a.m. with DUI while driving his 2005 Chevrolet on Clarendon Hills Road at southbound I-55, police said.

May 14: Joseph M. Deir, of the 800 block of Franklin Street, Westmont, was arrested at 11:48 p.m. at the intersection of Ogden and Williams. He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs, according to police. His gray Chevy Cruze was towed from the scene to an impound lot. Deir was released on I-bond and has a June 19 court date in Wheaton.

May 12: Angela A. Schapiro, of the 1100 block of South Grove, Oak Park, was arrested at 2:51 a.m. on Butterfield Road and Esplanade. She was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol with a BAC greater than .08 and unlawful use of weapons, according to police. Her green Jeep Wrangler was towed from the scene to an impound lot. Schapiro was released on I-bond and has a June 19 court date in Wheaton.

May 8: Sharla R. Stachurski, of the 1700 block of Whirlaway, Glendale Heights, was arrested at 12:04 a.m. on Butterfield Road west of Highland Avenue. She was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol with a BAC greater than .08, failure to signal and speeding. Her black Toyota 4 runner was towed from the scene to an impound lot. Stachurski was released on I-bond and has a June 5 court date in Wheaton.

ELMHURST

May 11:

  • Lauren Vavra, 22, 18W108 Claremont Drive, Darien, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after police pulled over her white Chevrolet Cruze for speeding, failure to signal and improper lane use at Cottage Hill and St. Charles at 2:28 a.m. She was released on bond.
  • Johnnie Torres, 26, 4114 N. Troy St., Chicago, was arrested and charged with DUI after police pulled over his white Chrysler 300 for speeding at North and York at 2:35 a.m. He was released on bond.

May 12:

  • Matthew Summerfield, 31, 875 E. Second Ave. Apt. 204, Lombard, was arrested and charged with DUI and driving without insurance after police pulled over his blue Honda Civic for speeding at First and Highland at 1:11 a.m. He was released on bond.
  • Kevin E. Berg, 239 Claremont, Elmhurst, was arrested and charged with DUI, obstructing a peace officer and failure to yield after police pulled over his green Toyota Camry for disobeying a stop sign and speeding at Addison and Second at 1:53 a.m. A passenger in the vehicle, Evan J. Fendley, 21, 201 N. Geneva St., Elmhurst, was arrested and charged with obstructing a peace officer. They were released on bond.
  • Daniel Palczynski, 27, 120 W. Hillside Drive, Bensenville, was arrested and charged with DUI at North Avenue and Route 83 at 3:40 a.m. He was released on bond.

May 16: Eamon Hennen, 26, 472 S. Kenilworth, Elmhurst, was arrested and charged with DUI, possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia after police pulled over his gray Mazda 3 for improper lane use and expired registration at York and Adams at 1 a.m. He was released on bond.

GLEN ELLYN

May 12: Fernando Munoz, 21, of the 800 block of Brentwood Drive, West Chicago, was charged at 4:30 a.m. with DUI, speeding and driving an uninsured motor vehicle at Roosevelt Road and Parkside.

May 11: Keith A. Martinez, 35, of the first block of Briar Street, Glen Ellyn, was charged at 1:23 a.m. with DUI, speeding and no driver's license at Geneva Road and Main Street.

May 6: Florencio Marquez-Mendez, 20, of the 500 block of Lynn Court, Glendale Heights, was charged with the following:

  • Aggravated driving under the influence
  • Illegal transportation of alcoholic liquor
  • Uninsured motor vehicle
  • Suspended or revoked driver's license
  • Failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident

Police arrested Marquez-Mendez at 4:01 p.m. on Main Street and High, according to a report. Police also charged Concepcion Marquez, 32, same address, with permitting an unauthorized person to drive.

HINSDALE

May 12: Trevor T. Andrews, 27, of the 25600 block of Shoal Creek Drive, Monee, was charged with the following:

  • Driving under the influence of alcohol
  • Improper lane usage
  • Driving while license suspended
  • Speeding

Police at 2:18 a.m. stopped Andrews at 55th Street and Camberly Court for speeding and improper lane use, according to a report. He was observed to be under the influence of alcohol and refused a breath test, police said. He was charged and released to appear in court.

May 7: Joel R. Harrison, 44, of the 700 block of Westfield, St. Charles, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol with a BAC .08 or more, speeding and improper lane usage. Police at 10:08 p.m. stopped Harrison at 55th and Quincy streets for speeding, according to a report. He was observed to be under the influence of alcohol and submitted a breath test, which indicated his blood alcohol content was greater than .08. He was charged and released to appear in court.

LEMONT

May 5: Mantas Storpirstis, 36, of the 200 block of Heather Glen Drive, Aurora, was arrested at 1:52 a.m. following a traffic stop at Archer Avenue and Bell Road. Storpirstis was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and improper lane usage. He was issued a June 11 court date at the Bridgeview Courthouse.

WHEATON

May 11:

  • Police charged Chase R. Howard, 20, of the 24W700 block of Merrill Drive, Wheaton, with driving under the influence of alcohol and illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor. Howard was driving a dark green 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee at 2:59 a.m. at Plamondon and Orchard Road when police initiated a traffic stop. Howard was booked at the Wheaton Police Department and later released.
  • Police charged Jessica L. Hill, 28, of the 2600 block of Wingate Court, Aurora, with driving under the influence of alcohol. Hill was driving a maroon or burgundy 2009 Chevy Aveo at 2:12 a.m. at Butterfield and Naperville roads when police initiated a traffic stop. Hill was booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released later that morning. During the same incident, police arrested Michael E. Parker, 28, of the 1000 block of Briarbrook Drive, Wheaton, on an Aurora police arrest warrant for failure to pay. Parker was released from the Wheaton Police Department later that morning.

May 4: Police charged Jeffrey B. Lawson, 18, of the 21W400 block of Burdett Road, Lombard, with driving under the influence of drugs, possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia. Lawson was driving a white 1999 Ford Taurus at 12:13 a.m. at Bloomingdale and Geneva Road when police initiated a traffic stop. Lawson was booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released later that morning.
