DuPage DUI Arrests, March 17 Edition

DARIEN

Feb. 24:

  • Nerijus Cepas, 30, of the 10S500 block of Echo Lane, Willowbrook, was stopped by police at 10:22 p.m. on the 7600 block of Cass Avenue for speeding southbound on Cass from Plainfield Road. He was charged with driving under the influence, speeding, endangering the life or health of a child and improper turn at an intersection. More than one officer could smell alcoholic-based beverages coming from Cepas while talking to him. Officers also noticed he had his two daughters in the car with him at the time of the stop. He failed field sobriety tests, was arrested, processed and released with a court date of April 3 in Wheaton.
  • Brian Okeefe, 51, of the 500 block of Redondo Drive, Downers Grove, was charged with driving under the influence, speeding and driving on a suspended/revoked driver's license. An officer stopped Okeefe at 12:37 a.m. on the 1400 block of Plainfield Road after Okeefe passed him at a high rate of speed. More than one officer could smell alcoholic-based beverages coming from Okeefe while talking to him. He failed field sobriety tests, was arrested, processed and released with an April 2 court date in Wheaton.

Feb. 22: Joseph Riha, 41, of the 100 block of Olde English Court, Romeoville, was involved in a crash at the intersection of Hinsbrook and Cass avenues at 10:40 p.m. An officer could smell alcoholic-based beverages coming from Riha when talking to him about the crash. He failed field sobriety tests, was arrested, processed and released with a court date of March 19 in Wheaton.

DOWNERS GROVE

March 5: Luis A. Najera, 32, of the 1100 block of Bramble Avenue, Bolingbrook, was arrested at 2:59 a.m. at the intersection of Prentiss Drive and Woodward Avenue. He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol with a BAC over .08, failure to signal and improper lane usage. His gray Chevy Trailblazer was towed from the scene to an impound lot. He was released on I-bond and has an April 10 court date.

March 1: Kerolous M. Rezk, 27, of the 6500 block of Main Street, Downers Grove, was arrested at 3:35 a.m. at the intersection of 63rd Street and Springside Avenue. He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol with a BAC over .08, speeding and improper lane usage. His white Cadillac Escalade was towed from the scene to an impound lot. He was released on I-bond and has an April 10 court date.

ELMHURST

March 10:

  • Taylor Murray, 24, of the 400 block of North Kenilworth Avenue, Glen Ellyn, was arrested and charged with DUI, driving without insurance and possession of cannabis after police pulled over her gray Nissan Sentra for improper lane use at Addison and First at 3:09 a.m. She was released on bond.
  • Leslie Becerra, 19, of the 700 block of North Highview Avenue, Addison, was arrested and charged with DUI after police pulled over her silver Nissan Altima for no headlights at York and North at 1:32 a.m. She was released on bond.
  • Matthew Pflum, 19, of the 400 block of East Vallette Street, was arrested and charged with zero tolerance DUI and consumption of alcohol by a minor after police pulled over the gray Chrysler Concord he was driving for improper turn at York and North at 1:03 a.m. He was released on bond. A 20-year-old passenger in the vehicle also was charged with underage drinking.

March 9:

  • Juan Martinez, 21, of the 5000 block of North Elston Avenue, Chicago, was arrested and charged with DUI, driving without a license and driving without insurance after police pulled over his white Ford Escape for disobeying a traffic control device at York and Third streets at 4:03 a.m. He was released on bond.
  • Raheel Sadiq, 27, of the 1300 block of Euclid Avenue, Glendale Heights, was arrested and charged with DUI after police pulled over his black Nissan Maxima for speeding, improper lane use and failure to yield to an emergency vehicle at Columbia Avenue and York Street at 2:29 a.m. He was released on bond.
  • Arturo E. Felix, 28, of the 300 block of Hale Street, Addison, is facing multiple charges after he was pulled over by Elmhurst police for a traffic violation at 1:41 a.m. Police pulled him over for speeding at Lake and West Avenue and reportedly discovered he was driving under the influence of alcohol. His license had been revoked from previous DUIs, police said, and he was wanted on a warrant for failure to appear in court. Police reportedly found open alcohol in his vehicle. A search warrant was obtained for a blood sample to determine his blood-alcohol level. Felix was taken to the hospital. He was charged with speeding, driving with a revoked license, aggravated DUI and transportation of alcohol. He was taken to DuPage County Jail, where he is being held on $5,000 bond. A court date is set for April 8 at the DuPage County courthouse. His vehicle was towed for forfeiture.

March 8:

  • Deyana Kravec, 26, Suffield Court Apt. 209 F, Westmont, was arrested and charged with DUI, possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia after police pulled over her black Toyota Camry for improper lane use and failure to signal at Roosevelt and Prospect at 3:37 a.m. She was released on bond.
  • Trina Clay-Willis, 29, of the 300 block of North Mason Avenue, Chicago, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after police pulled over her black Chrysler 300 for improper lane use and failure to signal at York and Lake streets at 1:51 a.m. She was released on bond.

GLEN ELLYN

March 5: Jordan Vogel, 23, of the 500 block of Pershing Avenue, Glen Ellyn, was charged at 2:18 a.m. with driving under the influence of alcohol on the 400 block of Roosevelt Road.

HINSDALE

March 11: Scott D. Walters, 31, of the first block of Ivy Lane, Oak Brook, was charged with DUI, DUI .08 or more and improper lane usage. Police said they stopped Walters at 10:54 p.m. on the 600 block of West Ogden Avenue for improper lane use when he was observed to be under the influence of alcohol. He submitted a breath sample with a BAC over .08 and was released to appear in court.

LEMONT

March 3: Daryl A. Ward Jr., 28, of the 12800 block of Meadowview Lane, Lemont, was arrested at 2:21 a.m. following a traffic stop in the 10900 block of Archer Avenue. Ward was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, illegal transportation of alcohol, no insurance and speeding. He was issued a March 27 court date at the Bridgeview Courthouse.

March 1: Judy Rokosik, 42, of the 800 block of Warner Avenue, Lemont, was arrested at 10:32 p.m. following a traffic stop at Canal and Lemont streets. Rokosik was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, no valid driver's license and driving with only one headlight. She was issued a March 27 court date at the Bridgeview Courthouse.

Feb. 26: Pablo Gonzalez Jr., 18, of the first block of Wilson Street, Joliet was arrested at 12:17 a.m. following an incident in the 12700 block of 127th Street. He was charged with the following:

  • Driving under the influence of alcohol
  • Aggravated driving under the influence
  • Speeding more than 40 mph over the limit
  • Aggravated fleeing and attempting to elude
  • Reckless driving
  • Driving while license revoked
  • No insurance
  • Disobeying a no passing zone
  • Illegal transportation of alcohol
  • Endangering the life and health of a child

Gonzalez was issued a March 27 court date at the Bridgeview Courthouse.

LISLE

March 8: Julie M. Penn, 31, of the 1300 block of Marcey Avenue, Wheaton, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol at 7:23 p.m. at Warrenville Road and Yackley Avenue, Lisle police said.

WHEATON

March 9: Police charged Dayanne C. Bowden, 23, of the 1600 block of Southampton Court, Wheaton, with driving under the influence of alcohol. Bowden was driving a gold 1995 Toyota Camry at about 12:30 a.m. near the intersection of Butterfield and Orchard Roads when police initiated a traffic stop. Bowden was booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released later that night.

March 2: Police charged Ralph W. Conner, 34, of the 300 block of North 5th Avenue, Maywood, with driving under the influence of alcohol and felony possession of a controlled substance. Conner was driving a maroon or burgundy 1998 Mercury Sable at about 1:08 a.m. near the intersection of Butterfield and East Loop roads when police stopped him. He was booked at the Wheaton Police Department and transferred to the DuPage County Sheriff's Office later that morning.
