DOWNERS GROVE

Jan. 5:

  • Matthew M. Davoren, 22, of the 7200 block of Camden Road in Downers Grove, was arrested around 4:45 a.m. at Main and Blanchard streets, police said. He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and improper lane usage. He was issued a Feb. 13 court date.
  • Venkatesh Sudharshan, 31, of the 6700 block of Maplewood in Chicago, was arrested around 2:07 a.m. near Main Street and 60th Place, police said. He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs, and was cited for improper lane usage. He was issued a Feb. 6 court date.

  • Donald Burns, 47, of the 1000 block of Throop Street in Chicago, was arrested around 3:35 a.m. in the 1100 block of Butterfield Road, police said. He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, failure to wear a seatbelt and speeding. He was issued a Jan. 30 court date.
  • Jessica R. Ross-Ryan, 24, of the 16700 block of Trailview Court in Tinley Park, was arrested around 3:37 a.m. near Main and Summit streets, police said. She was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and improper parking in a roadway. She was issued a Feb. 6 court date.

ELMHURST

  • Andrew J. Caron, 21, 513 E. Park Ave., was arrested and charged with DUI after his blue Volvo S60 crashed into a tree at Park Avenue and Huntington Lane at 4:18 a.m. Police said Caron fled the scene on foot and was found moments later at home.
  • Eric Miranda, 40, 5630 W. 23rd Place, Cicero, also was charged with aggravated DUI and driving with a revoked license after an officer on patrol said he saw his Ford Windstar strike a curb several times at Grand Avenue and Church at 2:21 a.m. Police said Miranda eventually pulled into a lot and drove over a parking block.

    Miranda also was charged with driving without insurance. He was taken to DuPage County Jail, where he was held on $15,000 bond, and his vehicle was towed for forfeiture. His next court appearance was not yet listed in DuPage County Clerk's records.
  • Maggie R. Micek, 26, 45 Yorkshire Woods, Oak Brook, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after police pulled over her silver Ford Taurus at York and Cayuga at 1:52 a.m. She was released on bond.
  • Gabriela Eugenio-Santiago, 29, 1902 W. 48th St. Apt. 1, Chicago, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving on a revoked license and endangering the health and life of a child after police pulled over her tan Chevrolet Venture for improper lane use and speeding at Interstate 290 and North Avenue at 12:54 a.m. She also was charged with failure to secure a child under 8 years old in a restraint system.

    Police took her to DuPage County Jail, where was held on $8,000 bond, and her vehicle was towed for forfeiture. Her next court appearance is scheduled for Feb. 4.

HINSDALE

Jan. 1: Martin D. Cosby, 45, of the 9200 block of South Justine Street, Chicago, was charged with DUI after he appeared to be under the influence of alcohol during a traffic stop in the 200 block of West Ogden Avenue at 3:20 a.m. and refused an ensuing breath test, police said.

Cosby also had an open container of alcohol inside his vehicle and was without a valid license. He was charged with DUI, illegal transportation of alcohol, driving without a valid license, speeding, improper lane use and failure to dim headlights. He was released to appear in court.

Dec. 17-Jan. 1: Six motorists were arrested for DUI during this period as part of an enforcement initiative to crackdown on drunk and unbelted drivers. In addition, 41 were issued citations for failing to wear their safety belts, 18 were cited for speeding, two were arrested for driving on a suspended or revoked license, two were cited for operating an uninsured motor vehicle, two were cited for other alcohol-related offenses and 38 citations were issued to motorists for other Illinois Vehicle Code violations.

LISLE

Jan. 5: Stacy K. Niemiec, 52, of the 5500 block of Essex Road in Lisle, was charged with three counts of aggravated driving under the influence and one count of possession of a controlled substance, all felonies, at 1:50 a.m. on the 20500 block of La Grange Road.

She was also cited for driving with a suspended license, driving without insurance, improper lane usage and two misdemeanor counts of driving under the influence. A Frankfort police officer was on patrol when he saw the car in front of him weaving from lane to lane.

When he stopped the car, Niemiec smelled of alcohol and couldn’t coherently answer questions about her destination, according to police reports. She was unable to provide her license and registration.

Niemiec failed a field sobriety test and was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol. A background check revealed that her license was revoked for driving while intoxicated and that she had two previous DUI convictions. Her court date is Jan. 28.

WHEATON

Jan. 6: Police charged Bradley Pell, 30, of Glendale Heights, with driving under the influence of alcohol. He drove a gray 2009 Nissan near the intersection of Gary Avenue and Armbrust Street around midnight when police stopped him. He was booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released later that morning.

Jan. 5:

  • Police charged Matthew Mallizzio, 42, of Carol Stream, with driving under the influence of alcohol. He drove a maroon 2008 Cadillac CTS near the intersection of Butterfield and East Loop roads around 1:40 a.m. when police stopped him. He was booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released later that morning.
  • Police charged Andjelko Lambeta, 32, of Glen Ellyn, with driving under the influence of alcohol. He drove a white 2008 Nissan near the intersection of Greenwood Drive and Roosevelt Road around 12:40 a.m. when police stopped him. He was booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released later that morning.

Jan. 4:

  • Police charged Lisa Nolan, 43, of Aurora, with driving under the influence of alcohol. She drove a blue 2013 Mazda near the intersection of Butterfield and Winfield roads around 1 a.m. when police stopped her. She was booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released later that morning.
  • Police charged Adam Batty, 24, of Glen Ellyn, with driving under the influence of alcohol, a hit and run and resisting an officer. He drove a gray 2003 Honda in the 1500 block of East Roosevelt Road around 10:20 p.m. when police stopped him. He was booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released later that night.

Jan. 1: Police charged Do Lian, 31, of Northbrook with driving under the influence of alcohol. He drove a black 2002 Nissan near the intersection of Blanchard and Illinois streets around 1 a.m. when police stopped him. He was booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released later that morning.

Dec. 30:

  • Police charged Belinda Lopez, 29, of Aurora with driving under the influence of alcohol. She drove a black 2006 Saturn Utility near the intersection of Butterfield Road and Leask Lane around 4:20 a.m. when police stopped her. She was booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released later that morning.
  • Police charged Holly Salatino, 49, of the 300 block of West Franklin Street in Wheaton with driving under the influence of alcohol and endangering the life/health of a child. She drove a black 2001 Mazda near the intersection of Evergreen and President streets around 1:20 a.m. when police stopped her. She was booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released later that morning.
  • Police charged James Thatcher, 33, of Oswego with driving under the influence of alcohol. He drove a silver 2006 Chevy Silverado near the intersection of Butterfield and Naperville roads around 12:30 a.m. when police stopped him. He was booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released later that morning.

Dec. 28: Police charged Vannessa Harvey, 29, of Aurora with driving under the influence of alcohol. She drove a silver 2010 Toyota near Bradford Street and Butterfield Road around 1 a.m. when police stopped her. She was booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released later that morning.

Dec. 24: Police charged Maung Hia, 26, of the 1300 block of North Main Street in Wheaton with driving under the influence of alcohol. He drove a gray 2005 Mazda in the 600 block of Glendale Street around 2:15 a.m. when police stopped him. He was booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released later that morning.

Dec. 21: Police charged Keffear Clayborn, 44, of the 100 block of Chase Street in Wheaton with driving under the influence of alcohol. He drove a gray 1990 Buick near the intersection of Chase Street and Roosevelt Road around 1 a.m. when police stopped him. He was booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released later that morning.

WOODRIDGE

Dec. 28: Alfredo Ruiz, 29, of the 2500 block of Spring in Woodridge, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving without a valid license and violating the median following a traffic stop at 11:12 p.m. in the 2400 block of 83rd Street.

Dec. 22: Rodolfo Rodriguez, 18, of the 8300 block of Helen Court in Downers Grove, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and failure to signal following a traffic stop at 12:15 a.m. in the 6800 block of Church Court. A 16-year-old juvenile was charged with consumption of alcohol by a minor and a curfew violation.

Dec. 17-Jan. 1: Officers made four arrests for DUI during the "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign that included increased police patrols during the special enforcement period. During the late night hours from midnight to 6 a.m., additional patrols are deployed to monitor for impaired drivers. The enforcement blitz was designed to decrease impaired driving fatalities both in Woodridge and nationwide. In addition, police issued 89 citations to drivers for traffic-related offenses such as speeding, no seatbelts and no insurance.
