DuPage DUI Arrests, Dec. 9

BURR RIDGE

Dec. 2: Ewa Strzalinski, 51, of the 8300 block of West 99th Street, Palos Hills, was arrested after the driver appeared to be under the influence of alcohol during a traffic stop near the intersection of Route 83 and Bluff Road at 1:39 a.m., and failed an ensuing breath test, police said. She was charged with DUI and improper lane use, and was released to appear in court.

Nov. 28: Daven Gilbert, 29, of the 300 block of West 32nd Avenue, Bellwood, was charged with DUI after he appeared to be under the influence of alcohol during a traffic stop near the intersection of I-55 and I-294 at 3:33 a.m., and refused an ensuing breath test, police said.

Gilbert was also charged with possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia, police said. He was release to appear in court.

DARIEN

Nov. 19: Eimantas Giniunas, 21, of the 8200 block of Geneva Street in Woodridge, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, speeding, improper lane use and leaving the roadway after driving his car off the road at Plainfield and Redondo in Darien and crashing when two tires popped, police said.

Police said Giniunas smelled like alcohol and refused testing. He was given a Dec. 24 court date. A passenger in the car, 18-year-old Dawn M. Alexander, told police she was drinking and was charged with illegal consumption by a minor.

She then told police she had illegal prescription drugs that didn't belong to her hidden in her bra. She was also charged with felony possession of a controlled substance and was taken to DuPage County Jail.

DOWNERS GROVE

Dec. 2: 

• Police charged Abraham Martinez, 21, of Knoxville, TN, with driving under the influence of alcohol. He drove a tan 2007 Honda Civic near the intersection of President and Evergreen streets around 3:30 a.m. when police stopped him. He was booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released later that morning.
• Police charged Eleuterio Colon, 48, of Glendale Heights with driving under the influence of alcohol. He drove a blue 2008 Honda Civic near the intersection of Chase Street and Roosevelt Road around 2 a.m. when police stopped him. He was booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released later that morning.
• Police charged Sarvadaman Pathak, 26, of 1 Wheaton Center with driving under the influence of alcohol. He drove a green 1993 Saab near the intersection of County Farm and Roosevelt roads around 12:40 a.m. when police stopped him. He was booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released later that morning.
• Ernesto Romero, 26, of the 1600 block of Cuyler in Berwyn, was arrested around 12:13 a.m. near Maple and Hillcrest avenues, police said. He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, improper lane usage and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. He was issued a Jan. 2, 2012 court date in Wheaton.

Dec. 1:

• Keyolanda M. Neal, 28, of the 14600 block of Jefferson in Harvey, was arrested around 3:23 a.m. near Highland Avenue and Butterfield Road, police said. She was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. She was issued a Jan. 2, 2013 court date in Wheaton.
• Police charged Michael Sooter, 29, of the 1000 block of Evergreen Street in Wheaton with driving under the influence of alcohol. He drove a white 2012 Ford F-150 near the intersection of Naperville and Roosevelt roads around 12:30 a.m. when police stopped him. He was booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released later that morning.
• Police charged Carrie Roski, 36, of the 900 block of Dartmouth Drive in Wheaton with driving under the influence of alcohol. She drove a gray 2004 Chevy Cavalier near the intersection of Dartmouth and Westhaven drives around 1:40 a.m. when police stopped her. She was booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released later that morning.

Nov. 30: Bradley J. Barnes, 20, of the 700 block of Main Street in Normal, was arrested around 2 a.m. in the 2100 block of 63rd Street, police said. He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and failure to give information after a crash. He was issued a Jan. 2, 2013 court date in Wheaton.

Nov. 28: Edilberto Nava-Pedroza, 25, of the 4700 block of Belmont Road in Downers Grove, was arrested around 12:02 a.m. near Belmont Road and Maple Avenue, police said. He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, failure to signal when required, improper lane usage and no valid driver's license. He was issued a Jan. 2, 2012 court date in Wheaton.

Nov. 26: Jamie Esparza, 32, of the 1100 block of Wheeler in Plainfield, was arrested around 12:49 a.m. near Highland Avenue and 31st Street, police said. She was charged with aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol/no valid driver's license. She was issued a Dec. 26 court date in Wheaton.

ELMHURST

Dec. 6: Jorge Orellana, 28, 1340 N. Waller St., Chicago, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and possession of cannabis after police pulled over his black Ford Focus for disobeying a traffic control signal, improper lane use and failure to signal at Butterfield and York at 3:29 a.m. Dec. 6. Police said they found 2.5 grams of cannabis in the center console of the vehicle. He was released on bond. A passenger, William A. Maldonado, 18, 920 N. Trumbull, Chicago, was charged with consumption of alcohol by a minor. Police said he also provided a false name and was found to have a no-bond warrant for parole violation from the Illinois Department of Corrections. He was taken to DuPage County Jail.

Dec. 1: 

• Sean Dwyer, 27, 611 Fay St., Elmhurst, was arrested and charged with DUI after police pulled over his green Jeep Patriot for failure to signal, speeding and improper lane use at Myrtle and Third at  2:46 a.m. Dec. 1. He was released on I-bond.
• Keith Gouldsberry, 23, 608 Hawthorne, Elmhurst, was arrested and charged with DUI after he allegedly drove his black Chevrolet Cobalt off the roadway at Euclid and Butterfield and struck a tree at 4:02 a.m. Dec. 1. He was taken to the hospital. He also was charged with driving without insurance, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and damage to city property. He was released on I-bond.

Nov 30:

• John Chiamas, 27, 1350 Iroquois, Bensenville, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after police pulled over his Mini Cooper for disobeying a traffic control device at Addison and North at 12:51 a.m. Nov. 30. He was released on bond.
• Christine Joy, 53, 120 Lakewood Apt. 522, Bloomingdale, was arrested and charged with DUI and driving without insurance after police pulled over her black Oldsmobile Intrigue for improper lane use at Lake and Grand at 10:07 p.m. Nov. 30. She was released on I-bond.

GLEN ELLYN

Dec. 1: Jeffrey R. Flater, 64, of the first block of Exmoor Avenue, was arrested at 12:42 a.m. at the intersection of Main and Duane streets, Glen Ellyn police said. He was charged with driving under the influence.

Nov. 25: 

• Police said Carrianne P. Connors, 32, of the 300 block of North Illinois, Villa Park, was arrested at 11:29 p.m. at Main Street and Crescent Boulevard. She was charged with a stop sign violation and driving under the influence.
• Steven A. Pietras, 23, of the 22W300 block of Birchwood, was arrested at 2:40 a.m. at Sunnybrook Road and Chapel Court North, police said. He was charged with illegal transportation of alcoholic liquor, driving under the influence, possession of drug equipment and possession of cannabis, 30 grams and under. 

WHEATON

Nov. 22: Police charged Peter Arnold, 46, of Winfield with driving under the influence of alcohol. He drove a silver 2010 Honda Odyssey near the intersection of West and Harrison streets around 1 a.m. when police stopped him. He was booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released later that morning.

WOODRIDGE

Nov. 16: Eimantas Giniunas, 21, of the 8200 block of Geneva Street in Woodridge, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, speeding, improper lane use and leaving the roadway after driving his car off the road at Plainfield and Redondo in Darien and crashing when two tires popped, police said.

Oct. 28: Samuel Kissi-Baah, 45, of the 8000 block of Willow Wood Way in Woodridge, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, speeding and improper lane usage. Police said he was driving erratically and going 55 mph in a 40-mph zone along Lemont Road at 3 a.m. After stopping him, police said Kissi-Baah smelled of alcohol and had red, glassy eyes. He refused a Breathalyzer and was given a Dec. 4 court date.
