Cops: Indecency Suspect Caught Hanging Out in His Car

Recent indecency reports prompted police to begin surveillance of the suspect, who authorities say was arrested in his car with his genitals exposed.

Wheaton police have charged a Plainfield man with public indecency after two reports late last week of a man exposing himself while masturbating in his car.

On Thursday afternoon, the city posted a release on its website about the arrest on Tuesday of Jermaine E. Anderson, 35, of Plainfield, on two counts of public indecency, a Class A misdemeanor. He was released on bail bond pending trial.

According to the release, Wheaton police were keeping Anderson and his vehicle, a silver 2004 Chevrolet Malibu, under surveillance on Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2013, in a parking lot near East Loop Road and Danada Drive. The surveillance was prompted by reports of suspected public indecency.

The release states that officers approached the vehicle and found Anderson sitting inside with his genitals exposed.

The police department is asking that any resident with information about Anderson and/or his vehicle to contact Investigative Cmdr. J.F. Volpe at 630-260-2056.

The release did not provide details on the recent public indecency reports that prompted police to begin watching Anderson. But on Wednesday, Wheaton Patch wrote about two such incidents that occurred Nov. 8 and Nov. 15, 2013, near the Amli Apartments, 30 Sterling Circle.
