Car Parts Cut, Stolen

Someone cut the catalytic converters of two Fords parked in a lot in the 500 block of Roosevelt Road between 9 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24 and 7:45 p.m. Friday, Sept. 28.

Bike Stolen

Someone stole a $150 bike from a driveway in the 1000 block of Stoddard Avenue between 7 and 8 p.m.

Window Smashed at Wheaton Business

A window of a business in the 100 block of Geneva Road in Wheaton was broken around 4 p.m., police said.

Credit Cards Stolen

Someone stole credit cards from a woman’s purse in the 100 block of Town Square Wheaton between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.

Parts Cut From Rental Trucks

Someone cut catalytic converters of two Ford E-350 rental trucks parked in the 600 block of West Childs Street between 11 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26 and 9:20 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 27.

WEDNESDAY, SEPT. 26

Bike Stolen

Someone stole a $250 bike left unsecured at the bike racks in the 500 block of Franklin Street between 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 25 and 11:15 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26.

TUESDAY, SEPT. 25

Suspended License

Police charged Richard Newell, 46, of Naperville with a warrant for driving on a suspended license. He was arrested and booked at the Wheaton Police Department at 10:12 a.m. and released later that day.

Break-in, Theft at Downtown Business

Someone broke into a business in the 100 block of E. Front Street between 3 and 4 a.m. and stole a $285 bike. The cost of damage to the window is $500.

Fence on Fire at IIT

About 100 feet of a fence set fire at the Illinois Institute of Technology in the 200 block of East Loop Road in Wheaton around 12:45 a.m. Police said the fire may have been caused by fireworks.

MONDAY, SEPT. 24

Driving While License Revoked

Police said they charged Juan Tapia-Almendarez, 31, of the 1000 block of Taft Avenue in Wheaton with driving with a revoked license. He drove a white 1994 Nissan Sentra near the intersection of Community Drive and Roosevelt Road around 8:20 p.m. when police stopped him. He was booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released later that night.

THURSDAY, SEPT. 20

Camcorder, Accessories Stolen

Someone stole a camcorder and accessories, worth $2,175, someone had rented at Wheaton College around 10:45 a.m.
