Body of Wheaton Woman Recovered from Illinois River

The body of a 24-year-old Wheaton woman has been recovered following a weekend boating accident on the Illinois River, according to the Daily Herald.

The body of Emily Anne Hendricks was found near Grist Island Head on the Illinois Rover between Morris and Senaca and was pronounced dead at 12:35 p.m. on Wednesday, according to the article.

The woman was on a Bayliner pleasure craft with three other people on Sunday afternoon when the boat became lodged in the Dresden Dam east of Morris on the Illinois River, according to Suburban Life Publications.

Two people were rescued from the water by another pleasure craft and a local fire department rescued another — all of those passengers were taken to an area hospital where they were later treated and released, according to Suburban Life Publications.
