Wheaton police reports, Aug. 14-19

SUNDAY, AUG. 19

FTA Warrant

Police charged Alfonso Barrera of the 2000 block of Roosevelt Road in Wheaton on a Federal Transit Administration (FTA) warrant. He was arrested in the 2100 block of Roosevelt Road around 11:20 p.m. and taken to DuPage County Jail.

Obstructing an Officer

Police charged David Phuong of the 1300 block of Main Street in Wheaton with obstructing an officer. Phuong, 20, was arrested around 7 p.m. at his home, booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released later that night.

Battery

Police charged Kamera Hicks, 21, of the 700 block of Liberty Drive in Wheaton with battery. Hicks was arrested at 7-Eleven, 326 W. Liberty Dr., around 6 p.m., booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released later that night.

Driving Without a License

Police charge Juan De Lara, 30, of West Chicago with driving without a license. De Lara drove a green 2001 Pontiac Grand Am near the intersection of Briarcliffe Boulevard and Butterfield Road around 4:20 p.m. when police stopped him. He was booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released later that night.

FRIDAY, AUG. 17

Felony Retail Theft

Police charged Paul Reardon, 56, of Downers Grove with felony retail theft. Police said he stole $100 in consumables. He was arrested at 501 County Farm Rd. around 11:30 a.m., booked at the Wheaton Police Department and taken to DuPage County Jail.

Fake Driver's License

Police charged Roberto Martinez of Glen Ellyn with possession of a fake driver’s license. Martinez, 41, was cited at Wheaton Warrenville South High School around 10 a.m., booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released later that day.

THURSDAY, AUG. 16

Suspended License

Police charged Eduardo Cordova, 21, of Stone Park with driving on a suspended license. Cordova drove a tan 1997 Nissan Maxima near the intersection of Cromwell and Dorset streets around 4:50 p.m. when police stopped him. He was booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released later that night.

WEDNESDAY, AUG. 15

Charges in Liquor Theft

Police charged Justin Fanslau, 42, of the 700 block of Liberty Drive in Wheaton with retail theft. According to the police report, Fanslau stole liquor, and was arrested around 2:30 p.m. at Starbucks, 91 Danada Square East. He was booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released later that day.

TUESDAY, AUG. 14

Man Charged in Car Theft

Police charged Michael Cooper, 45, of the 700 block of Liberty Drive in Wheaton with a car theft that occurred May 19. He was arrested in the 700 block of Lorraine Road around 7 p.m. and taken to DuPage County Jail.
