Alert Citizen Helps Nab Three Burglary Suspects

Two teens and juvenile charged with multiple vehicle break-ins.

An alert citizen's early morning 911 call helped police nab three burglary suspects in the 200 block of East Liberty Drive, police said.

Officers responding to the call around 3:15 a.m. on Friday immediately found three suspects trying to leave the scene of multiple vehicle burglaries, police said. One vehicle was broken into and two others were damaged.

The property taken from inside of the vehicles included electric cords, a flashlight, sunglasses and miscellaneous food items, according to police.

Gerald L. Schulz, 18, of Winfield; Cameron M. Lemerand, 17, of Carol Stream; and a male juvenile were charged with one count of burglary to a motor vehicle and booked at the Wheaton Police Department.

Additionally, Schulz and Lemerand were charged with felony criminal damage to a motor vehicle.
