$5,700 Loss in Wheaton Vehicle Burglary

Computer gear, jewelry, cash and clothing are among items stolen from trunk of car parked on Kensington Circle.

A Kensington Circle resident’s new year got off to a rough start last week when she discovered someone had broken her car while it was parked overnight in front of her apartment building.


The woman told police on Thursday, Jan. 2, 2014 that she went out that day to her 2004 Nissan Maxima to find someone had broken into the trunk and removed an assortment of items.


Among the stolen items were a black CD binder containing about 80 CDs, a black laptop bag, a black wallet, a white laptop, a white tablet mobile device, a silver watch with a black face, a 14 karat white gold necklace with small diamonds, a pair of 14-karat white gold hoop earrings with small diamonds, $380 cash, a pink overnight bag containing clothing, a black makeup bag containing cosmetics, one black and one brown hooded sweatshirt, a black wool women’s coat, a pair of women’s black boots, and other personal belongings.

The total loss was estimated at $5,700.
