4 Meth Arrests Made in DuPage County Thursday: Sheriff

Four men were taken to the DuPage County Jail after a two-month investigation, police said. Here are more details.

Four men were arrested Thursday in connection with a two month-long undercover drug investigation involving meth, the DuPage County Sheriff's Office announced on Friday.

Police detectives at 5:30 p.m. Thursday conducted an undercover operation at an undisclosed location in Villa Park. They met with Arthur Goodman, 34, of the 8100 block of 44th Street, Lyons, and Remy Martin, 42, of the 300 block of Pocahontas Trail, Lake in the Hills, to purchase methamphetamines, according to a news release.

During the operation, detectives witnessed Goodman and Martin selling meth to two brothers, Joseph Strubin, 30, and Christopher Strubin, 32, both of the first block of Black Walnut Trail in Palos Park, the Sheriff's Office said. All four men were taken into custody to the DuPage County Jail. Woodridge Police was the arresting agency for this incident, according to court records.

Goodman and Martin were each charged with unlawful delivery of a controlled substance, a class X felony, the news release said. The Strubin brothers were each charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance, a class 3 felony, according to police. 

Goodman and Martin as of Friday remained in the DuPage County Jail on $25,000 bond. Goodman's case is due back in court on Aug. 13 and Martin's returns on Aug. 12, according to court records.

The Strubin brothers were released on $1,500 bond. They are due back in court on Aug. 26.

If convicted of any Class X felony, Goodman and Martin could be sentenced to up to 30 years in prison each, according to sentencing guidelines in the current state statute. If convicted of any Class 3 felony, the Strubin brothers could be sentenced to up to five years in prison each.
