2 Men Charged With Armed Robbery of RadioShack Near Lombard

These Chicago residents are accused of taking over $40,000 in cash and merchandise from the store. Here are the details.

Two Chicago men are being held on $500,000 bail after they robbed a RadioShack in unincorporated Lombard, police said on Wednesday.

Antuoine Adams, 38, and Ronaldo C. Crawford, 33, both of the 8700 block of Bishop, were charged with armed robbery, a Class X felony, the DuPage County Sheriff's Office said in a news release.

Adams and Crawford are accused of taking over $40,000 in cash and merchandise on June 5 from the RadioShack on the 18W400 block of Roosevelt Road in unincorporated Lombard, the release said. Sheriff's detectives had no suspects at the time, but learned during their investigation that multiple businesses were robbed in similar fashion around the Chicago area.

A break in the case came when Des Plaines police arrested two subjects on June 27 for committing a similar robbery that occurred in their town. Des Plaines police charged Crawford and Adams and they are being held in the Cook County Jail. They also have the $500,000 bail out of DuPage County on the RadioShack robbery charges.

This was the second robbery incident in June for that part of DuPage. There was an attempted robbery in nearby Oak Brook on June 23. That incident was stopped by a security guard, who shot one of the suspects while two others got away.
