Wheaton Resident Elected to Illinois State Bar Association Board of Governors
Chantelle A. Porter of Wheaton, a senior associate attorney at A. Traub & Associates with offices in Arlington Heights and Lombard, has been elected a member-at-large to the Board of Governors of the Illinois State Bar Association serving a three-year term.
The 27-member Board of Governors oversees the operations and management of ISBA, subject to policies set by the 201-member Assembly.
A member of the ISBA Assembly, Porter is a former supervisor of the DuPage County Public Defender’s Office Juvenile Division. Prior to that she was with the Cook County Public Guardian where she represented the best interest of juveniles as attorney and Guardian ad litem on cases of abuse, neglect and dependency.
She is president of the DuPage Association of Women Lawyers, an active member of the DuPage County Bar Association, a member of American Inns of Court-DuPage Chapter and DuPage County Family Violence Coordinating Council, and served on the board of the DuPage County Bar Foundation.
Porter received her law degree from DePaul University College of Law in 2006 and her undergraduate degree from The Ohio State University in 2003.
