Letter: Pro-business Nybo Makes Sense for Illinois

Nybo is willing to face pension reform head-on.

After the redistricting maps finally came out, it was very confusing for a time. Once I realized that Glen Ellyn had the opportunity to be represented by Chris Nybo in the State Senate, I was thrilled and able to get to work for good government! My company is based in Oak Brook, where Mr. Nybo currently serves as State Representative. I've had many opportunities to meet with him and see him at work in the community.

What I appreciate most is his logical approach and candid discussion on pension reform. The fact he is willing to meet this issue head-on is something that impresses me greatly. As a businessman, I know that this crisis could have and should have been dealt with long ago by the legislature. The fact they continued to delay any serious solution is an affront to the future generations who will be saddled with that debt.

We need courage and honesty now. We need Chris Nybo and I'm very pleased to have an opportunity for him to represent my home and my business. I encourage everyone in our community to support Chris Nybo to serve as our State Senator.

I do have to concur with Rick and the Chicago Tribune on this one. Having witnessed some of the outbursts myself when he was an alderman in Elmhurst it is not the type of stuff you want in a State Senator. Just too much over the top behavior. It’s the maturity thing that disqualifies him in my eyes. Who is going to listen to you when you are ripping everybody up and down all the time? Too much negative, negative, negative. He is in serious need of a Dale Carnegie class. Maybe he should start with the book. “How to win friends and Influence people” Look how much Dillard has been able to bring to the area even with the Democrats in charge. You got to know how to work with people. There is an old adage this young man needs to take heed of. “You can get a whole lot more with a drop of honey than a pound of poison” You got to go with Dillard folks this guy is just to risky.

I agree Roger, Dillard has shown us what it is all about. "Look how much Dillard has been able to bring to the area even with the Democrats in charge." You are correct Roger. Dillard helped the Democrats get in charge. Dillard was THE Republicrat who worked the hardest to get Obama elected President: http://illinoisreview.typepad.com/illinoisreview/2009/06/dillards-controversial-obama-ad.html However, as this is the REPUBLICAN Primary, I will be casting my vote for a REPUBLICAN. But thanks all the same!

I have been following this exchange and find it most reveling that the Nybo supporter’s responses always try to deflect the maturity issue and change the subject. It surely looks like they are trying to hide something. I just read the Tribune endorsement of Dillard and it does in fact describe some behavior you don’t want to see in a State Senator. I am just not sure that this young gent is our best option. Things are just not adding up for me. It looks like he is trying to go to fast. He just appears to be little to shrill for me. I got some time before Election Day but I think I am going for Dillard. I know he works with people well.

I agree with you Roger, he works very well with others. I just don't care for who he works so hard for: http://illinoisreview.typepad.com/illinoisreview/2009/06/dillards-controversial-obama-ad.html I just don't quite understand Roger, why you keep changing the subject and won't acknowledge that you like, support and are casting your vote for a so-called Republican who worked the hardest to get Obama elected President. Are you trying to hide something Roger? According to Crains Dillard has received just under $400,000 from special interest groups since the beginning of the year. A who's who of contributions from the Illinois Election Commission website will either make your head spin or make you vomit a little in your mouth: http://www.elections.il.gov/CampaignDisclosure/CommitteeDetail.aspx?id=9857 Dillard is a Senator for Sale to sooooo many special interest groups he stopped caring for his constituents before he even started, Which special interest are you? Come on, it will be our little secret. I won't tell anyone...
