The choice is ours in the newly formed 6th Congressional District. The Republican incumbent, Peter Roskam, always votes the party line. Leslie Coolidge, the Democratic challenger, has moderate views and is not afraid to express what she sees as great potential for this country.

Peter Roskam voted to cut hundreds of jobs at Fermilab in our area, and voted for tax breaks for companies that ship jobs overseas.  Leslie Coolidge supports targeted incentives and job skill training that will help create quality jobs in Illinois.

Peter Roskam voted 33 times to repeal Obamacare. Leslie Coolidge will protect Obamacare, but will focus on how to curb rising medical costs.

Peter Roskam voted for Paul Ryan's budget which would turn Medicare into a voucher program.  Leslie Coolidge will work to strengthen Medicare by eliminating waste, fraud, and abuse.

Peter Roskam wants to ban a woman's right to choose, even in cases of rape or incest.  He co-sponsored a bill that would legally redefine rape to exclude statutory rape and some kinds of date rape.  Leslie Coolidge supports a woman's right to choose and will fight attempts to redefine rape.

Leslie Coolidge's background as a partner in a worldwide accounting firm gives her a unique insight into issues facing 'Congress in the next term such as job growth, tax policy, the deficit, and abuses that contributed to the recession.

Peter Roskam is the most conservative member of the Illinois Congressional delegation according to the National Journal.  Leslie Coolidge is ready to reach across the aisle and work for legislative solutions that are in the best interest of the country.

The choice is ours on November 6th: growth or gridlock. Let's make a change in Congress.  Let's send Leslie Coolidge to Washington.

She has my vote. She's smart, independent, and understands the issues. Roskam is tethered to special interests and backward thinking ideology. He'll deliver more of the same.

Leslie would make a great mail carrier, lets make that happen.

Jim you need a comedy gig. You are wasting your talent on message boards.

Ever notice she will not say where she worked? That is because Ms. Coolidge still refuses to answer the simple questions surrounding her involvement in KPMG's illegal tax avoidance schemes, used to help 1%ers, like herself, try and avoid paying legally due taxes. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/KPMG_tax_shelter_fraud Part of the criminal activity? Or ignorant of the rampant crime going on around you? Which is it? Have a nice life as a Barrington blue blood Ms. Coolidge.

Dan F. Leslie was an audit partner, not a tax parter. She not even in the tax department. At least get your facts straight before you spout off. Audit has nothing to do with tax.

Oh, by all means we should support the Democrat effort to disenfranchise us. As I write this I am looking out the window of my house in the newly remapped 6th Congressional District, across the street into the newly remapped 5th District. (Here's a map of the newly gerrymandered 6th District: http://www.precinctmaps.com/maps/us/IL-6.pdf ) My current representative lives three blocks away but has been forced to run in yet another district altogether. The amount of money being directed at our local races by various national Democrat organizations and PACs is just staggering - all to make sure our voices are silenced.

This has happened every ten years since the founding of the country. Nothing really different here. Each party gets its chance to do the same, if they are in power at the the time of redistricting. Kind of like arguing balls & strikes in baseball.

Congressman Roskam deserves to win in November, we cannot afford any democrats in the house. Our Nation is in debt, over $16T and the Obama wants to spend even more of our money. Obama made our foreign policy a joke, get them all out, vote for change, vote for Romney.

Congressman Roskam has shown zero leadership and zero imagination in his role as Majority Whip. Time to dump him.
