Immigration Issue!

I like the approach being taken by Congressman Peter Roskam on immigration. He believes that this complicated issue should be dealt with piece by piece. Comprehensive bills like the Senate's which are complicated and thousands of pages long are not the way to address immigration. The Affordable Care Act was a lengthy and complicated piece of legislation also and it is currently a train wreck.
Instead, Congress should deliberately work through each of the most pressing immigration problems as separate pieces of legislation, starting with border security. Once there is a level of confidence that the border will be secure, Congress can move on to issues like getting undocumented immigrants right with the law.
Congressman Roskam is trying to legislate in a way that is responsible and might actually fix our broken immigration system. We can't be fooled by a quick fix. The issues in the immigration debate need to be taken one step at a time with input from different sectors....maybe then we'll have a system that we all as Americans can get behind.
