Democrats And Republicans Must Come Together!

It may be time for members of Congress to attend a workshop on "Problem Solving".  It seems that the skills needed to solve problems facing our nation have been forgotten or never learned by many of our lawmakers.  Rule number one of problem solving is to bring all vested parties together to begin addressing the problem.  It is imperative for President Obama, Senate and House  Democrats and Republican members of Congress sit down together and work on a plan to reopen our government.  This is also the right time to address our larger budget issues and begin to attack the national debt.

During the last two weeks of our government's shutdown, I have been pleased to see my Congressman, Peter Roskam, and other House Republicans working to keep the government from totally shutting down.  Congressman Roskam has supported multiple pieces of legislation to keep critical government programs operating as usual during the shutdown.  However, the Senate has failed to act on any of these bills.

I am also in support of Roskam's position on delaying the individual mandate of the ACA to match the delay for big business meeting their mandate, as well as his vote to take away the subsidy for members of Congress in Obamacare.  It is criminal of members of Congress to think they are entitled to be treated better than the general population under the ACA.  Again, the Senate has failed to act.

The only way that the federal government will become fully operational again is for President Obama, Congressional Democrats and Republicans to begin negotiating a solution to our financial problems.  President Obama and Senate Democrats need to come to the table.
