Rodney Dougherty, 84, Jul. 2, 1926 - Mar. 2, 2011

SVisitation for Rodney Dougherty will be at 1 p.m. until a memorial service at 4 p.m. Sunday, Mar. 6 at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 Main St, Wheaton.

Rodney Dougherty of Wheaton died Wednesday, Mar. 2 at home. He was 84.

He was born in Oak Park July 2, 1926. He was a graduate of Oak Park High School and the University of Illinois. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War Two as a mechanic, and as a code interpreter. 

He loved his wife of 38 years, Christina Dougherty, who died in 1989. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Mary Doyle.

He is survived by five daughters, Susan, Sally, Mary, Katy and Betsy; a son, Michael; 15 grandchildren, Andy, Joe, Ben, Maggie, Christina, Scott, Joe, Rachel, Melanie, Christian, Cameron, Megan, Ian, Ainsley and Kayden. 

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until a memorial service at 4 p.m. Sunday, Mar. 6 at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 Main St, Wheaton.
