Odette Acuna, 83, Mar. 16, 1928 - Aug. 7, 2011

A memorial service for Odette Acuna will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 27 at College Church in Wheaton.

Odette Wilson Acuna, a resident of Wheaton since 1945, died Sunday, Aug. 7 at ManorCare in Naperville. She was 83.

She was born March 16, 1928 in Chicago to Roy and Myrtle Wilson. She graduted from Wheaton Academy and then Wheaton College in 1949. She studied art at the University of Chicago and attended the Art Institute of Chicago.

In June of 1953 she married Antonio Acuna. She was a prolific artist working in a variety of mediums. Her artwork was sold across the country in boutiques and studios. She was a volunteer at the Wheaton Christian Grammar School where her children attended. For many years she was active at of Wheaton Bible Church and in recent years has attended College Church in Wheaton.

She is survived by her husband, Antonio Acuna of Wheaton; three sons, Tony, Roy and Billy; two daughters, Alexandra and Victoria; 10 grandchildren; and a sister, Nancy.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Eunice.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 27 at College Church, 332 Seminary Avenue, Wheaton.
