Michael Patrick Murphy, Sr., 63, a thirty-one year resident of Wheaton, Illinois; passed away April 22, 2013 at home. He was born November 29, 1949 in Chicago, Illinois. He graduated from DePaul University and served in the Army National Guard. A former Wheaton Plan Commissioner and Homeowner's Association President, he worked in Operations Management and Computer Programming. His passions included fishing, golfing, reading and family. 

He was the beloved husband of Mary Jo nee Koenig, his wife of 39 years; cherished father of Kathleen, Anne (EJ) Pederson, Michael, Jr. and Colleen; loving grandfather of William and Erin Fitzpatrick; devoted son of Dorothy; dear brother to Phil (Gail), Larry (Gerri), Mary Ellen (Timothy) Hughes, Tom (Sue); caring uncle of many.

He was preceded in death by his father, George Murphy and his sister-in-law, Constance Murphy. 

Visitation Thursday 3:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Williams-Kampp Funeral Home, 430 E. Roosevelt Rd., Wheaton (one block east of Naperville Rd); Funeral Mass Friday 10:00 a.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church, 310 S. Wheaton Ave., Wheaton. Please meet at church.
