Joseph J. Lundgren, age 41, a resident of Iowa City, Iowa, died of an accident May 6, 2013, in Iowa City, Iowa. He was born September 11, 1971, in Park Ridge, Illinois.

Growing up in Bloomingdale, IL, Joe was active in baseball, soccer, and swimming. He attended Wheaton Christian Grammar School, where he was deeply impacted by his loving teachers.  He also attended Lake Park High School and Wheaton North High School.

In recent years he enjoyed fishing and loved spending time with his children. He worked as a construction laborer.

Joe gave his life to Christ in 2010 and was baptized on May 14, 2011. He is survived by his parents, Kenneth and Betty Lundgren; brother, Kevin Lundgren; sisters, Karen Lundgren and Kathy (Jeff) Holwerda; children, Keele Shae, Drayven, Rylie, and Noah; special friend, Caryn Freeman; and many other friends. Joe was preceded in death by his grandmother, June Zimmer.

A visitation will be held May 14, 2013, from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at Wheaton Evangelical Free Church, 520 E. Roosevelt Rd., Wheaton, Illinois 60187, where a funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m.  Pastors Ken Carr and Jeff Holwerda (Christ the King Church, Batavia, IL) will officiate. Interment will follow at Wheaton Cemetery in Wheaton, Illinois.
