Wheaton Native John Belushi Died 30 Years Ago Monday

Thirty years ago Monday, John Belushi died. We remember some of the side-splitting scenes he gave us with "Blues Brothers," "Animal House" and "Saturday Night Live."

Wheaton native and comedic legend John Belushi died an early death 30 years ago yesterday. At age 33, he was found dead of a drug overdose in the Chateau Marmont hotel in Beverly Hills, CA.

But well before the downfall into drugs, Belushi was a standout on the Wheaton Central High School football team, the Chicago Tribune reported Monday. His high school drama teacher introduced him to Second City Theater. He joined the Second City improv troupe in 1971 and appeared in "National Lampoon's Lemmings" off-Broadway in 1972, according to the Tribune.

The Huffington Post shared 11 of the most hilarious Belushi performances, including the "Blues Brothers," "Animal House" and "Saturday Night Live."
