Week in Review: Threat Heightens School Security, Fatal Accident and More

Wheaton North High School was under heightened security Friday after a threatening note was found written on a student bathroom wall. The note was the second found this week, according to District 200 spokeswoman Erica Loiacono. The nature of the threat has not been disclosed. Police are following a lead to identify who is responsible, Loiacono said.

Shawn Somerville, 49 of Wheaton was killed Friday morning after he was hit by a car near the intersection of Geneva Road and Knollwood Drive around 12:15 a.m, according to a press release from the DuPage County Sheriff's Office.

DuPage County Board Chairman Dan Cronin is accepting applications after former board member Debra Olson's resignation Dec. 15.
