Week in Review: Child Porn and Attempted Robbery Arrests, Hubble Answers and Anti-Bullying

Wheaton City Council will vote next month on a long-term bike plan which would be a template for future improvements to the city's biking system. City staff could start implementing the plan with a Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality (CMAQ) program grant.

Residents attended a presentation of the plans for the old Hubble school property last weekend, where representatives from the park district, developer Bradford Equities and engineering firm V3 infrastructures answered their questions about the site.

Wheaton police arrested John Diebold, 59, of the 300 block of Gables Street for possession and dissemination of child pornography. Diebold faces two charges for possession and one for dissemination.

A Wheaton woman and a Glen Ellyn man were arrested Tuesday after an attempted robbery in the 300 block of Roosevelt Road, police said.



Patricia Stewart, 50, of Wheaton was sentenced to up to five years in federal prison for allegedly running an investment scheme the defrauded investors.

District 200 staff will receive training as the district implements changes to its curriculum.



A group of young performers led an assembly about bullying at Monroe Middle School Monday, using music, skits and true stories to spread its anti-bullying message.
