Peeler Joins Biblical and Theological Studies Faculty at Wheaton College

Dr. Amy L.B. Peeler recently joined the Wheaton College faculty as an assistant professor of New Testament.

Peeler is a graduate of Oklahoma Baptist University, where she earned a B.A. in Biblical Languages. She completed an M.Div. and a doctorate in New Testament Studies at Princeton Theological Seminary.

Peeler previously held a postdoctoral fellowship at Indiana Wesleyan University.

Her research and study is focused on the book of Hebrews. Additional interests include theological language, the writings of Paul, and the influence of Israel’s Scriptures on the New Testament.

Peeler’s dissertation, “You Are My Son: The Family of God in the Epistle to the Hebrews,” is currently under review with publisher T&T Clark. She will present four papers at upcoming gatherings of the Society of Biblical Literature and the Evangelical Theological Society.

“Wheaton is a place committed to rigorous education for the sake of God's kingdom. I'm eager to participate in the shaping of students at such a formative time of life, just as I was mentored by my Christian professors,” Peeler says. “I have the special privilege of learning from God's word with my students, often exploring issues and perspectives they haven't encountered before. My prayer is that the work we do in my classroom will foster within them a passion for studying and wisely interpreting Scripture.”

“Dr. Peeler is an outstanding scholar who holds a lot of promise,” says Wheaton College provost Dr. Stanton Jones. “We’re pleased to have her join the Biblical and Theological Studies faculty.”

Peeler will teach students in Wheaton’s undergraduate program.
