Observatory Open to Public on Astronomy Day

In celebration of Astronomy Day, the Wheaton College Physics Department invites the public to get a close up look at the sky from its observatory.

In celebration of Astronomy Day, the Wheaton College Physics Department invites the public to get a close up look at the sky from its observatory from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, April 20.

The College’s new 24-inch PlaneWave Instruments CDK24 telescope is among several telescopes that will be set up to for viewing the planets Jupiter and Saturn, the famous Orion nebula, the Pleiades and the moon.

Astronomy Day is an international effort to to increase public awareness about astronomy and the wonders of the universe.

The observatory is located on the fourth floor of the Meyer Science Center at 403 Howard Street in Wheaton.
