Billy Graham’s Sermon Manuscripts Available Online

The original sermon manuscripts of Rev. Billy Graham are now available to the public worldwide via the Wheaton College website at wheaton.edu/grahamsermons. Rev. Graham, possibly the most familiar and well respected evangelist of the 20th century, is a 1943 graduate of Wheaton College.

Spanning 1941 to 2006, the typed manuscripts, underlined and marked with the evangelist’s handwritten notes, can be read, printed, downloaded, or even searched for specific words within the text. The collection includes 3,760 typescripts, plus a set of sermon transcripts made from audio recordings of Rev. Graham’s evangelistic crusades and events from 1949 to 2003.

The staff of the Billy Graham Center Archives at Wheaton College has worked since fall 2010 to digitize the collection and prepare it for use by clergy, researchers, lay people, and the general public. The digital copies were scanned from the original manuscripts loaned to the Billy Graham Center Archives by Rev. Graham and the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA).

“Opening these sermons to the public is an achievement that many at Wheaton and the BGEA have worked toward for years,” says Paul Ericksen, interim director of the Billy Graham Center at Wheaton College. “Rev. Graham’s impassioned plea for people to commit themselves to Jesus Christ will continue to be conveyed through his sermons. Researchers have sought these texts for decades—now they will be available to everyone worldwide.”

Digital, paper, and microfilm copies of the manuscripts and transcripts are also available in the Manuscripts Reading Room on the third floor of the Billy Graham Center, located on the campus of Wheaton College, 501 College Ave., Wheaton, Illinois.
